They are the national airline of The Kingdom of Bhutan, which nestles in the hills to the east of Nepal. Bhutan is known as the "Land of the Thunder Dragon" and the airline has been named Druk Air as "druk" is the Bhutan word for "Dragon". The airline operates from Paro, in Bhutan, via Kathmandu to Delhi. They also operate to Dhaka, Calcutta, Yangon and Bangok. Their fleet consists of two BAe 146 regional jets and two brand new Airbus A319s.
Booking - the first challenge!
My flight out was already booked but I decided to book my return with Druk Air. However, that was initially easier said than done, as their flights cannot be booked through travel agents' computers such as Amadeus, Galileo, Sabre or Worldspan. They can only be booked direct with the airline, or one of their representatives. This sounded suspiciously like a low...

From the modest street level entrance you will be suprised at what awaits downstairs. The restaurant is set in a vaulted brick cellar, the ceiling of which has been painted in the most tasteful of fashions. Even the ducting for the air conditioning is adorned along its length with golden dragons. There is a beautiful water feature and many bonsai-style trees. Even before you have had a chance to view the menu you know that this is going to be a treat.

Advantages: Extremely beautiful place to visit and enjoy Disadvantages: None for nature beauty lovers
...sea level and visitors are given options to hike all the way up which takes about 3 hours non-stop hike, or take the cable car for an extra 80 RMB which will take you near the top of the place. Huang Long has a set of colorful travertine ponds from dark green to light blue which are caused because of different mineral deposits they say, the water is amazingly clear and the air is still pure and clean. You can see the pollution sensitive moss that can not grow in even slight polluted areas still growing amongst the trees here. The weather is below 20 C during cloudy days and it's quite windy, best to wear extra layer of clothing. Why is it called Huang Long, well it's because the river that flows from the top looks like a yellow dragon from above the air. It is because the rock sediment under the river is yellow. Some people who aren't used...

Advantages: quite cheap, interesting Disadvantages: out of the sun!!
...I visited these caves this year (2006) and was amazed by them. I have never set foot in anything like this before and was slightly aprehensive!
I found they were fasinating, steeped in history and a real eye opener if you have never been in something like this before. the water has made so many patterns on the walls and there is an air of mystic about the whole thing. They had music playing that really fitted the scene and the lighting was really dramatic.
the best part was when they played music in boats on the underground lake and then everyone got to go in a boat and that was the end of the tour.
I would recommend this as it was something totally different and not what you would expect at a resort like majorca. Of course, if your a sun worshipper this is probably not your cup of tea as you do spend a couple of hours underground...
