Welcombe Hotel,Spa&GolfCourse
I have recently spent two weeks in the most beautiful hotel I've seen in UK! The Menzies Welcombe Hotel, Spa & GolfCourse. The hotel is a part of a hotel chain called Menzies Hotels! It is a 4**** hotel set in the middle of 157 acres of land, surrounded by a 18 holes championship golfcourse and attached to a spa complex with swimming pool, jacuzzi, gym, beauty shop & separate apartments.
You only need to travel about a mile outside Shakespeare's birthplace Stratford-upon-Avon and it is very well signposted by large blue signs from the main Warwick Road.
It is trully large impressive manor house that will take your breath away as you enter! The reception and lounge are absolutely huge and filled with period furniture and massive oil paintings (all original)! The wooden staircase will take you up ...
Advantages: A lovely relaxing place to stay. Disadvantages: Can't think of any.

Advantages: Easy walking, not arduous, superb catering Disadvantages: The course has some settling to do
This course was constructed by Elmwood College, which is the top European College for Golf Management Studies, and opened in 1997. Regrettably, I think they have to study a bit harder. To give it the benefit of the doubt, the course was originally agricultural land and still has a lot of settling in to do. You still get the feeling of walking from field to field as a lot of the original walls are still there.
The surrounding countryside is open farmland with Tarvit Hill to the south and Lomond Hills to the west. It’s a lovely setting and the welcome cannot be faulted.
THE COURSE
It’s a par 70 (sss 68) for men and par 73 (sss72) for ladies. The course is pretty straightforward with only a few greenside bunkers (no fairway bunkers). The only real problem is the knee high rough if you are really wayward.
