Christmas at Thomas Land in Drayton Manor

Advantages: Excellent Day Out
Disadvantages: None

...review is based solely on Drayton Manor's Magical Christmas at Thomas Land and not on the full park, as this was the only section open at the time, unlike the summer when the whole park is open.

After watching a TV advert for Drayton Manor's Magical Christmas we decided that our daughter Holly nearly 4 would love the day out and as the price would shoot up after 20th December when Holly would be 4 we decided to go that weekend. The Magical ...

OFFICIAL-The Best family day out in the UK!!

Advantages: Excellent rides, suitable for everyone
Disadvantages: Price is high for some people

I have now visited Drayton Manor Park about five or six times during the last ten years or so, and it has never failed to be a fun day out, and money well spent. The park has this year been voted to be the best family day out throughou the whole of the UK, which as far as I know, is pretty accurate. The park is not in the same league as Alton Towers for example. But you do not pay the price ofalton towers, or have to queue for anywhere near as long ...
...towers. The main advantage of drayton manor is that it is just the right size to be able to get on all of the rides that you want to, within one day. ----------Ticket Prices---------- Age 12+ (Adult) £16 to £19 Ages 4-11 £12 to £15 Under 4's Free of charge Disabled Visitor £9 to £11.50 Age 60+ £8 to £9.50 Family tickets to the theme park are also available, which slightly reduces the price for each member of the group. As shown in the prices, ...

Drayton Manor - Family Fun!

Advantages: Unique rides, fun for kids.
Disadvantages: Quite small

Drayton Manor Theme Park is set near Tamworth in Staffordshire which first opened it's gates all the way back in 1949. The theme park is home to many thrilling and unique rides as many of it's rides hold the title of 'Only... in the world/ Europe' which gives this theme park a bit of an edge over others. I visited Drayton Manor last year and it was my first trip to a theme park of any kind and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Unfortunately we didn't get ...
...|:| Opening Times |:| Drayton Manor is open this year between 24th March and 28th October which is the traditional theme park season as we should have some of the better weather by the summer, I hope! The gates open to the park at 9:30am each morning in time for the rides to open at around 10:30am .The rides stay open until about 6pm when you'll have to leave. I'd advise getting there early to make the most of your day. You'll end up missing out ...

Wading through litter

Advantages: Good choices for all the family
Disadvantages: It has a litter problem

Drayton Manor has a tough job because of its location. It is within a reasonable travel time to both Alton Towers and West Midlands Safari Park therefore it has a lot of competition on its door step. What it has done is to very carefully position itself within its target market, it probably knows that it cannot compete with Alton Towers for the age 15 to 30 thrill seekers but it does need to still offer that age group something so it very much aims ...
...What I like about Drayton Manor is that there is something for all ages and as our group included a six and three year old as well as teenagers it was great that the little ones had loads of rides. The big new attraction is Thomas Land, what I really liked was that it had a manned entrance and kids over twelve have to be accompanied by an adult, this keeps the thirteen and fourteen year old school kids out and makes it a more peaceful and a cleaner ...

Excellent Manor's Drayton

Advantages: Something for all the family
Disadvantages: Expensive

...and googling we decided that Drayton Manor was the only theme park within striking distance that seemed to have something for everyone. Not that one hour and fifty minutes is particularly within striking distance. It is one hell of a dull journey from Liverpool along the M6 and it came as a bit of a shock when we got to the M6 toll; Four quid each way the robbing buggers! Nonetheless, several pee and tea breaks later we arrived at Drayton Manor and ...
...children. Fortunately, the layout of Drayton Manor is such that just across from the younger rides are the thrill seeking rides so, off they went to enjoy “Maelstrom”, a huge spinning hammer, “G-Force”, a looping rollercoaster and “Shockwave”, a standing up looping rollercoaster. Now I personally thought them insane but they loved it. There are height restrictions for these rides and my nine-year-old son came back ...

Seen Better Days?

Advantages: Compact area and some good rides, Thomasland is nice.
Disadvantages: Looks tatty and needs a bit of TLC

Drayton Manor is a long established Theme Park in Tamworth, Staffordshire. It is easily accessible from the M42 and is well signposted. The car parks are massive and look as if they would be adequate even on a very busy day. I visited with my two children in October on a school inset day so the park was relatively quiet. The gates open at 9.30 with the rides opening at 10.30. There is a small zoo which you can visit before the rides open. The current ...
...This is the home to Drayton Manors main thrill rides. Maelstrom cannot be missed as you enter the park. This big circular swing was a favourite with my son and daughter although I wimped out and my friend claimed it made her feel sick! Shockwave is a thrilling stand-up coaster and G-force is an inverted coaster. Due to the fact it was quiet on the day we visited they did not have both rides running all day, one opened later and one shut early so ...

Brilliant Brum

Advantages: Central England,Good for touring,Great modern city.
Disadvantages: City centre not recommended for the motorist!

Brum...a great place to visit, and to use as a base for touring the Midlands. A modern city, with many fine buildings, a vibrant City centre, great hotels, and good night life. Tourist attractions such as Stratford, Warwick, Leamington Spa, Drayton Manor Park, Alton Towers, Telford and Ironbridge, Dudley castle and Zoo, Merry Hill shopping centre, Evesham, etc are all within a day-trip distance. If you like fine restaurants, especially Chinese and Balti, Brum really cannot be beaten! Transport to Brum is easy by Train to New St Station, by air to Birmingham International airport, or by road via the M5,M6,M1,or M42 motorways. ...

Cant really ask for a better deal!!

Advantages: Very nice hotel, in an excellent location
Disadvantages: not many for a hotel

excellent. lively place in the mailbox, with the canals, and broad street close by, which is where all the good nightclubs and bars (and more) are situated. Staff: no problem with staff, all very polite and helpful. Prices: surprisingly affordable, we paid £45 for our double room. there is an extra charge for breakfast, but thats usual. Places close by: include cadburys world, international conference centre (ICC), drayton manor park, broad street, the fountains area (nice), the NEC if youve got transport. SO overall, good hotel, in a great location. affordable, cant really go wrong. i recommend. ...

Review of The Birmingham Hotel, Birmingham

Longshoot Hotel, Nuneaton. Great venue, great location

Advantages: Great location, great price.
Disadvantages: Rooms look shabby from the outside. No air conditioning in meeting rooms.

to eat are not disturbed. Parking The hotel has its own car park which is used by guests of the hotel and restaurant alike. This is plenty of parking in the front of the restaurant facing the A5 and a second car park around the back of the restaurant designated specifically for guests of the hotel. I would say the car park accommodates upto 50 cars which is more than adequate which is a good thing as road parking is very limited due to the busy nature of the surrounding roads. Things to do nearby As previously mentioned the hotel is in an ideal location for many of the midlands attractions. Points of interest close by include Mallory Park race track, Drayton Manor Park (Tamworth), the National Space Centre (Leicester), National Motorcycle Museum (Birmingham), Warwick Castle, the NEC and National Indoor Arena, plus ...
