I stayed at Dream Castle last year on a weekend trip to Disneyland Paris. It was my second option but looking at the website I decided that it was really beautiful and just what we were looking for.
We had been up since 3am and arrived at the hotel at 11am thinking that we would be able to get into our rooms straight away, have a shower and then go to Disney. The receptionist seemed slightly rude towards us and told us that someone ... ...to wait. We left our bags with the hotel and went to Disney. We came back at 4pm extremely tired, went to our rooms and stayed there the rest of the evening.
The room didn't look like it was supposed to to me. I had looked on the site and saw the bedrooms and the picture was completely different to our room. They have updated it now though. The room was lovely, spacious with a wardrobe, desk and an amazing view. The bed was extremely ... more

We had been up since 3am and arrived at the hotel at 11am thinking that we would be able to get into our rooms straight away, have a shower and then go to Disney. The receptionist seemed slightly rude towards us and told us that someone hadn't checked out of our room yet so we had to wait.
The bed was extremely comfy and I got a good night sleep the whole weekend.
The lobby seems very child orientated. There was pool that we played on but we didn't have much else to do at the hotel. There was a swimming pool but we didn't bring our swimsuits, a shop which seemed very expensive, a bar, breakfast room, dining room and a huge garden.
The actual hotel itself is stunning. Just looking at it seems well worth the money. The breakfast was delicious. Normally I'm a very fussy eater but I was extremely pleased with all the options you are offered. At breakfast everyone is very calm and surprisingly children weren't screaming or running around. The restaurant for dinner is an all you can eat buffet for 30 euros each. I had a hard time remembering that this was £15 rather than £30 in british money. A lot of the food was fish and neither of us like fish. We also had to try and guess what we were eating, being very cautious not to get something we didn't like as the names of the dish were all in French - which I understand seeing as we were in France.
The waitor serving us for dinner was lovely, the breakfast staff were also good but the reception staff were still funny with us. We wanted some change and we saw a machine that said "exchange" on it. We weren't sure whether this was exchange your money currency or exchange notes to coins. We went to the shop to ask for some change but she wasn't allowed and told us to go to reception. We went to reception who told us they didn't have any money and to speak to a man about 2 metres away from them, we asked that man who just pointed at the machine, said nothing just pointed. In the end we guessed he must of been telling us that it's a change machine. It was still a lot of hassle to go to 3 people when the first one could have told us.
Overall I loved the hotel because of it's magnificent scenery and beautiful building, the breakfast, breakfast staff and restaurant staff were great but the reception really let the place down. I would recommend to go still though. Everything else makes up for the reception.
Advantages: Close to Disneyland, Lovely views, newly built. Disadvantages: Not a budget hotel, some teething problems.
This hotel had only been open two weeks when we stayed there and because of that we had paid a reduced rate. We therefore expected to smell new paint and experience a few minor teething problems when we arrived. We actually booked it independently but used the DisneylandParis brochure as a guide to the amenities.
The DreamCastle is situated in an area known as Val de France, which to those familiar with the area is behind the Cheyanne/Santa Fe hotels across the ring road. There are actually four large hotels here, The Explorer, Holiday Inn and the Kyriad. All four front onto the lake and share some wonderful views.
The hotel is very impressive and much larger than it looks in the brochures. On entering the lobby - which is also huge, you come face to face with the King! No not Elvis Presley but a lifesize statue to give ...

Manufacturer's product description
Modern hotel open in July 2004 just adjacent to the park of Disneyland- a good alternative to a Disney hotel! It is obviously child orientated but has found the right balance between entertaining the children and appealing to theadults too. Guests can relax in a soothing atmosphere after a busy and noisy day at Disney and enjoy the peaceful surroundings of the hotel. King rooms consist of a large double bed or twin bed more suitable for couples or friends, andare well equipped and tastefully decorated. The theme throughout the public areas is life in a 13th century castle and after being greeted by a giant queen and king in the reception hall, you will be able to have a drink in theExcalibur bar or enjoy a dinner in the 3 musketeers restaurant. The hotel provides a free shuttle bus to and from the park and to and from the Rer train station.
