Myself and my girlfriend stayed here for New Year, we'd checked it out on their website and on trip advisor. We were not disappointed, beautiful reception area and helpful receptionists.

Advantages: Location, comfort and staff Disadvantages: slow lift - hardly a trip spoiler

We knew we weren't going to be spending much time in the room, but we had a great night sleep every night, no noise from the street at all.
... ...upper mid-town area. 5 minutes from 5th ave and 3 mins from times square and about 5 mins from central park and the subway station is right outside the hotel.
I can't recommend this place more highly, i absolutely loved it and the bar on the top floor has amazing views over times square.
Although when we went it was slightly more expensive than normal, i still felt that we got a great deal.

The hotel is close to everything you want in the upper mid-town area. 5 minutes from 5th ave and 3 mins from times square and about 5 mins from central park and the subway station is right outside the hotel.

It depends what you're looking for in a hotel and how much you are prepared to pay. This is a reasonably priced hotel with a very modern and vibrant feel to it. Might not be to the taste of the older generation.
Advantages: everything and anything Disadvantages: flight is too long from Manchester
NewYork, NewYork, there are movies, songs, books named after this city of dreams. It has everything and anything. I went last fall with my family and it was the best week I have ever had in my life, I stayed in the Waldorf Astoria which is one of the most beautiful and elegant hotels you could ever stay in! Dont let people say that " the Plaza is the best hotel in NewYork becuse it's not its the Waldorf for sure. There is so much to do in New Yorkand the whole place is like one giantfilm set, you have Time Square where I say Fight Club because it is an R and if you are with your parents you can see it your under 17 and I was 14 but in Scotland i'd have to be 18 with or without parental consent, Empire State buliding which was breath taking from the top, statue of libirty which I never got over to see as the que was far to long ...
Advantages: During the Horse Drawn Ride, you are taken to safe areas but are given a feel for the park's atmosphere. Disadvantages: You only see a very small part of the park, in the horse drawn carridge.
Ever since I was a child, I have always wanted to ride in a horse drawn carriage in NewYork's Central Park. My dream was realised in April 2000, when I was lucky enough to visit the NewYorkCity, for the first time.
Fredrick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux created Central Park in 1858, for the people of NewYorkCity. The land is initially unwanted granite. It took a lot of labour and around ten million cartloads of stone to create the splendid scenery seen today.
My last morning in NewYork (Sunday) dawned; the sun broke over the city. It was as if the City was inviting my husband and I to pay a long awaited visit to Central Park. The air smelt somehow sweeter today and romance was in the all around.
It was a beautiful spring morning.
Having flown down the Hudson River in a helicopter, the day before and seen Central Park ...

Ciao members have rated this review on average: very helpful Review of Central Park
Advantages: lots to do, easy to get around, plenty to see Disadvantages: loud at night, somewhat overwhelming (if that's a bad thing!?)
After years of talking about it and day-dreaming, my husband and I finally visited NewYorkCity in September 2007. We had high expectations and thought we knew what to expect. Newsflash: Whatever your expectations, NewYorkCity will exceed them. Another newsflash: no matter how much you think you know about NYC, you will never really know until you visit. After four days in the city that never sleeps, we still didn't know or see a tenth of it!
We stayed at the Carter Hotel which was smack-bang in the centre of the action at Times square. You see Times Square on TV and it is nothing compared to the real thing. It is truly huge. My husband and I spent the entire time looking up with our mouths open in wonder.
What did we do during our stay? We took a tour of Madison Square Garden- a must see for all sports fans; took the elevator ...
