The Marriott Druids Glen hotel is a wonderful place to stay when visiting Ireland and I would recommend it to anyone if they are seeking a quiet, peaceful holiday. The location is wonderful, with views of the sea and mountains, it was a dream location and one that I will never forget.
Check-in was simple and easy and all of the staff were friendly and happy to help in whatever way that they could. All of my details were right and I was quickly given my keycard.
The bedrooms were large, modern and clean. The bathroom had the usual toiletries, which were of a good quality, although a couple more would have been good considering it was a 2 Queen bed room sleeping three. The hotel was quiet, and although it appeared as though occupancy rates were high the hotel didn't feel overcrowded or cramped.
The hotel also has a golf course and although I am not a golfer myself it looked like a good course! The hotel is fairly spread out, although not massive, some of the rooms had balconies, mine didn't but I am guessing that's as it wasn't a suite.
If you are at the hotel don't forget to go to the restaurant the food is amazing and the restaurant staff are so nice and friendly! The menu has plenty of options and is well thought out, you really must try the Irish Stew! The prices in the restaurant are high although its worth it in my opinion, on the night I had a meal there a pianist was playing and it made the experience even more relaxing.
I had a rented car, which meant that is was easy to drive into the nearby town of Greystones which has a train station which is served by the DART meaning it's easy to get into Dublin for the day. Dublin itself is a nice city, although I was glad to be able to hop back on the train and stay in a hotel that was out of the way a bit in the peace and quiet.
The hotel pool is brilliant and a really nice size, the hotel also has a sauna and steam room, it was brilliant to be able to come back to the hotels in the evening and just relax!
For a five night stay it was about £1000, I do think that its worth it as I will never forget how brilliant my stay was and hope to go back soon, the staff go out of there way to be helpful and the hotel provides a luxurious stress free stay.
