Real olympics here we come..I won the zoolympics!

Advantages: really is 'no ordinary zoo'!!
Disadvantages: Does'nt look as big as it is!

...way there we passed Drusillas and decided to pick up a leaflet on site and visit it on the way home as it was about 30mins away from the park.

Please note I'm not easily pleased and the Haven above will not be getting a review as I prefer to write about things/places I'm happy with and I certainly wasn't with this place!

On Sunday I called Drusillas 24hour help/advice line to find out the prices and times, was a little ...
...We arranged to go to Drusillas on the Monday, the day we were going home, and didn't hurry too much to get there early as it didn't appear to look like a very large park so thought that we would have plenty of time to look around in an afternoon. On the way there we were umming and ahhing over weather to go or not as the weather didn't look too good…..I won the argument hence this review!(and NO I'm not just writing a glowing review as to try and proof ... more

Drusillas for Me!

Advantages: Great for young children, plenty to do and see
Disadvantages: Expensive for adults as zoo,

...trips which took me to Drusillas Park. ~Location~ Located amidst the stunning scenery of the Cuckmere Valley at Alfriston in East Sussex on the A27, about 7 miles from Eastbourne and 12 miles from Brighton, Drusillas really is a fantastic zoo for young children. Unfortunately due to problems with the hiways agency there are not many signs showing the way but if you head to Alfriston you should have no problem finding the zoo from there. ~The Zoo~ ...
...I can easily understand why Drusillas was recently voted South East England's number one attraction. Your day begins with a tour of the wonderful zoo - regarded as the best small zoo in the country, a reputation earned by the zoo for creating an animal and child friendly environment. The innovative design of low fencing enables children to get nose to nose with nature by meeting the animals face to face. Walking in a clockwise circular direction ...

No Ordinary Farm

Advantages: Good day out for the kids
Disadvantages: The Smell, Hard to find

...farm. Okay well Drusillas Park is just off the A27 at Alfriston, East Sussex. Which is between Seaford and Eastbourne. To get to the park is something of an adventure as it’s not very well signposted. We did find it hard to find, we just tripped over it. We thought we were going the wrong way (we should have just followed the smell) There open everyday, apart from the normal days you wouldn’t expect them to be open like Christmas Eve, Christmas ...

They do have family tickets Family of 3 £27.45, Family of 4 £36.45, Family of 5 £44.95 Their car park is big so there’s no problem in parking. When we went it wasn’t at all busy. We didn’t have to queue to pay ...

Small Park, Big Prices

Advantages: Pleasant Zoo experience
Disadvantages: Poor VFM

...review to find out where Drusillas is located. :p It's not the Parks fault that the Highways Agency won't allow them to put up any more signs on the primary routes. Luckily I had basic knowledge of the area. Look the park up on Streetmap or Multimap. Today was a scorchingly hot day. We had planned to visit Drusillas but weren't arriving until lunchtime. I have this policy of only visiting places where I can arrive on or near the opening times. The ...
...of Four ticket for £38.45. Drusillas have a funny policy of charging extra during the peak season (although they do give a whopping 50p per ticket discount in off peak season). Imagine going to Tescos at 5pm and being told that your shopping will cost 50p more per item? Considering it was peak season, the large number of visitors it's just a method of price gouging. Also toddlers are charged from 2 years old onwards at about £1 less than the full ...

Drusillas zoo park

Advantages: good family day out
Disadvantages: costly

Drusillas zoo park is a great day out for the family, however, it can be rather pricey. There are several animals on show, but they tend to be of the smaller variety, so don't go expecting to see lions and tigers and bears, as there are none. They have alot of monkeys, of various species, smaller wild cats (servals), flamingos, and the smaller types of wild animals. There are also pet and farm animals, such as ponies, chickens and bunnies, along ...
...again, these are quite pricey, so I'd advise - take a packed luch! theres a gift shop, and various craft items, and a train ride is available. Drusillas is good every now and then, when you have enough money, and it is brilliant at christmas for the santa's grotto visit! ...

Ok a zoo is a zoo?...or is it? We visited Auckland Zoo, Western Springs in Grey Lynn at the end of March 2006. Coming from the UK I've been blessed with growing up and visiting the likes of London Zoo, Drusillas Zoo Park, Bristol Zoo and Windsor Safari Park (showing my age) etc. These zoos have always looked dated and behind the times with regards to how animals should be kept. On entering Auckland Zoo I was pleasantly surprised at how contemporary the zoo felt. Friendly, helpful staff, great signage, very clean and lots to see and do. Auckland Zoo is very much geared towards showcasing it's animals in surroundings as close to their natural habitats and has a pro-conservation vibe with lots of good information on hand. Everywhere you go, a great deal of thought has gone into the surroundings and there is also something ...
