My first experience of Dubai airport was on the final leg of an around the world trip. All i wanted to do was to get home, and see my family. But the airline i was flying home with was delayed by 9 hours, so we were stuck there for what seemed like forever. TO be honest at least 4 hours of those passed with us just looking around, either just generally walking around the airport, visiting the shops, using the business facilities (internet/fax/telehone all avaialable for a small charge) etc.
I have been back to Dubai on many occasions, and have been amazed each time, but this time by the lounges available. I have flown both Business and First with Emirates and Business with British Airways. The Emirates First and Business Class lounges are out of this world. Everything from amazing views of the runways, but internet facilities, food & drink services, televisions, and even offering room accomation with ensuite facilities (private in First and shared in Business). The staff were great and overall i loved everyminute in them. i only wish i could have stayed in them for longer. The BA lounge was obvisouly not as appealing, but then again BA spend more attention on their domestic lounges in London and around the UK.
I have also been able to use the lunges due to my FF status, so even if im not flying Business or First i am able to receive a relaxing, and stylish end to every holiday in Dubai, by using its great facilities on Departure
