Handy Tips for Travellers
Review of Dubai, Airport by ping0

Advantages: Plenty of Shopping
Disadvantages: Never enough time

Dubai Airport is one of my favourites - providing there is plenty of time to appreciate all it has to offer. Travelling into Dubai - Be prepared for a lot of walking - the exit seems miles away from the plane! There are moving walkways to help make the distance shorter, and if you are elderly, there is a buggy which drives along the walkways to save your feet. There are not many signs to direct you, but generally go with the flow of people and you ...
...especially if your flight arrives at the same time as one from the Far East, so, unless you travel business class, be prepared to wait in long queues. TIP - choose a queue with more Europeans in it as they take less time to process TIP - If It is possible, I recommend you to book the Marhaba. This does not cost very much (I think about £10) and consists of a canary yellow coated lady who greets you as you arrive, puts you on the buggy to save your ... Read review

Gold Souk Deira.
Review of Gold Souk, Dubai by liana3030

Advantages: Selection is great, prices- the cheapest or one of the cheapest in the World.
Disadvantages: Too many small shops and traipsing through all of them can be tiresome.

...Travel :- The Gold Souk is in the Deira part of Dubai. If you happen to be staying in Bur Dubai you can take either a bus or a taxi to the Gold Souk. As it is so famous you need not tell the driver the location, he will take you there. From Bur Dubai the easiest way to go is through the Al Shindaga tunnel as you will have to cross the Creek. If you are staying in Deira, it might be either walkable or a short cab drive away. Plenty of local maps are ...
...you with one. When visiting the Gold souk it is also worthwhile to step into the nearby fish market which is really huge and displays a wide array of fish, prawns and crabs(you will be surprised at their different colours). In the gold souk there is loads to walk so tired legs are inevitable at the end of the day. Prices/Money exchange:- The price of gold is fixed for the day and tend to change from day to day-albeit slightly, in response to the ... Read review

The best hotel/attraction in Dubai
Review of The Tower of Arabs (Burj Al Arab), Dubai by yassarikhan786

Advantages: Exclusive, brilliant, luxurious, great service
Disadvantages: very expensive

The Burj Al Arab also known as The Tower of Arabs is one of the major attractions in Dubai. It is located on a man-made island on the Persian Gulf. It was once the tallest building in the world used exclusively as a hotel. It is now the third tallest hotel due to two taller buildings being built, which are used exclusively as hotels just like the Burj Al Arab. The second tallest hotel is located in North Korea and the hotel leading the way is also ...
...ft) and is one of the reasons why Dubai at the present time is on of the most popular holiday destinations. The Burj Al Arab stands on an artificial island, which is approximately 280 metres (919 ft) out from Jumeirah Beach. The island on which the Burj Al Arab is located is connected to the mainland via a private curving bridge. By private I mean that you have to gain permission in advance in order to get access to the exclusive road leading to ... Read review

A Fun filled water adventure!
Review of Wild Wadi Water Park, Dubai by wardy-91

Advantages: Great fun!! Superb rides!
Disadvantages: None.

Wild Wadi is a water park in Dubai that features some brilliant rides and slides that you can go on all day long! There's the big ride that is great if you're a real thrill-seeker as it makes you feels as if you are flying down this slide, but be warned, you may get cut or bruised from riding on this one as it can be fairly violent. There is a newly installed (1-2 years ago) children play area that is the main feature there and features some birlliant ...
...eother, to a huge bucket that drops gallons of water on you!! There are a lot of rapid rides, whcih you travel in a donut ring which can be great fun. But they aren't just normal rapids, the water pushes you upwards, and occasionally downwards!! Its great fun for the whole family! The entry prices for the theme park are 70AED (Child) and 110AED(Adult) and the adult prices start from 13 years. It opens at around 7.30am and shuts about 6pm but then ... Read review

Ski Dubai - snow in the desert
Review of Ski Dubai by lillygirl

Advantages: Good family day, good photo opps and a chance to strap on some skis
Disadvantages: costly if a large group

...they can head onto the ski slope. Ther te are 2 main slopes, one of which they rate as a black run, but to be honest is not too difficult. There is a proper ski lift to take you to the top of the 'mountain' so you can get your breath back before launching yourself down again. All your clothing is providing for you - pants, jackets, boots and even socks! Only thing you need to provide are gloves and hats. These can both be bought cheaply at the their ...
