Nice if you're not impatient!
Advantages: Convenient for town, lots of restaurants, use of a beach club Disadvantages: Delays at check-in and check-out, long wait for lifts
...somewhere more central.
The Crowne Plaza is located on Sheikh Zayed road, on a strip of office blocks, hotels, shops and restaurants and is very central, ten to fifteen minutes from the beach, from the Deira and Karama shopping areas, and the airport, so very convenient for all. I've stayed here about ten times between 2000 and 2003.
AIRPORT The Crowne Plaza has a meet and greet service at the airport as do most hotels. It is worth using as it ... ...is full size. The usual Crowne Plaza amenities of shower gel, shampoo, soap, flannels are there plus a hairdryer, TWO toilet rolls (the end of both folded into points of course) and a separate box of tissues. Even for single occupancy you get two hand towels and three bath towels. In the mornings you find an english language newspaper hanging on your door, which is a nice touch. (I assume that Arab guests have a local paper). Just once, I was upgraded ...

Central to everything
Advantages: Location, Service, breakfast Disadvantages: Businessman hotel rather than tourist, not for families
...district of Deira.
The Novotel is central to everything!
If you are a business traveller and need access to the world trade center/ exhibtion center then there is only one other hotel which is as close and that is the ibis. Novotel actually has direct access into the Exhibition centre next to hall 8.
The rooms are on a par with the high end 4 stars that you will find in London and the service is impecable. Services include.
T.V. (Some satelite ... ...Iron and Ironing board facitity
Laundry service (chargable)
Tea coffee making facilities
Phone
Internet access (Chargable)
Although the location is central you will invariably need a taxi to go anywhere as Dubai is not a foot friendly city. That said taxi's are cheap enough with most places reachable for about 35dhs.
Nearby attractions
Emirates towers (10 mins Walk)
Exhibition centre WTC (1 mins walk)
Emirates mall and ski centre ( 30dhs ...

The Burj Al Arab
Advantages: Read Opp Disadvantages: Price
...magnificent and luxury hotel the Burj Al Arab. I was lucky enough to spend two nights at this hotel during New Years Eve and New Years day 2008/2009. I had a friend who’s dad did a tone of import export business and thus I even managed to stay their for free, yes that’s right for free, under the condition that I paid for all my own food, and drink, which I was more than happy to at the time. Now everyone has either heard about this hotel, been their ... ...Background Information:
So The Burj Al Arab is located in Dubai, which is in the United Arab of Emirates, about a 7 hour flight from London. The hotel is the second tallest building in the World, which is used as a hotel. The hotel itself is built around an artificial island 280 m (920 ft) out from Jumeirah beach, and is connected to the main land via a private bridge. The hotel started construction in 1994, and took only four years for the construction ...

Holiday of a Lifetime
Advantages: Amazing Hotel in an amazing location Disadvantages: Area not completely built yet
...so much to do?
The Hilton has an excellent activities counter where you can book a wide variety of trips, for example in my one week stay I was able to go on a dune ride in the desert and camp out under the stars, and then the next day go down to the east coast snorkelling. The hotel even has its own private beach but I would not reccomend going on the beach during the summer as you will burn very easily as the heat can peak at 50 degrees C.
There ... ...mostly because half of it will be spent skiing on its massive indoor ski run and all equipment is provided for you.
So if you love clear blue oceans, relaxing by the pool and interested in seeing Dubai in it's true grandeaur, then the Hilton is the place to stay. ...
