Central to everything

Advantages: Location, Service, breakfast
Disadvantages: Businessman hotel rather than tourist, not for families

...district of Deira. The Novotel is central to everything! If you are a business traveller and need access to the world trade center/ exhibtion center then there is only one other hotel which is as close and that is the ibis. Novotel actually has direct access into the Exhibition centre next to hall 8. The rooms are on a par with the high end 4 stars that you will find in London and the service is impecable. Services include. T.V. (Some satelite ...
...Iron and Ironing board facitity Laundry service (chargable) Tea coffee making facilities Phone Internet access (Chargable) Although the location is central you will invariably need a taxi to go anywhere as Dubai is not a foot friendly city. That said taxi's are cheap enough with most places reachable for about 35dhs. Nearby attractions Emirates towers (10 mins Walk) Exhibition centre WTC (1 mins walk) Emirates mall and ski centre ( 30dhs ...

...times a day, and the Golden Sands complex ended up being our choice. There are 10 buildings in the Golden Sands group, so you really need to know which one you're staying in, though the majority of short-term guests are put up, as we were, in Golden Sands 3. While the other buildings are all close by, you don't want to be trekking the streets when you arrive at what is usually the middle of the night thanks to European airline schedules, so if you're ...
...to be on their books Golden Sands must therefore be halfway decent, despite what people on Trip Advisor were telling me. We arrived late thanks to cancelled flights, a change of airline, closed runways and all sorts of other winter travel catastrophes. We should have arrived at midnight, but it was gone 5am when the taxi dropped us off. However, the place was far from dead, with two members of staff on reception and others milling around near the ...

Good value for money

Advantages: Cheap, close to metro, friendly staff
Disadvantages: Not central

The Towers Rotana Hotel offers a very good standard of service for less money than some of the other Dubai Hotels. It is only a couple of minutes walk from the metro and its location is very good as well. It is also very easy to get a taxi. The best thing about the hotel is the friendliness of the staff. Reception staff often call you by your name and bar staff remember which drink you ordered. Small touches that make a stay more memorable. Often ...
...not happen to me. Food is very good in the hotel and breakfast buffets had a lot of variety. Longs Bar is a great place to sit and watch the world go by, although drinks are a little expensive. It serves great food, although if you want more upmarket cuisine, you can try Teatro's. It can get very busy (and loud) in the evenings though. Rooms are very clean and roomy. There is a shower and bath and they were both spotless. There is bottled water ...

The Burj Al Arab

Advantages: Read Opp
Disadvantages: Price

...magnificent and luxury hotel the Burj Al Arab. I was lucky enough to spend two nights at this hotel during New Years Eve and New Years day 2008/2009. I had a friend who’s dad did a tone of import export business and thus I even managed to stay their for free, yes that’s right for free, under the condition that I paid for all my own food, and drink, which I was more than happy to at the time. Now everyone has either heard about this hotel, been their ...
...Background Information: So The Burj Al Arab is located in Dubai, which is in the United Arab of Emirates, about a 7 hour flight from London. The hotel is the second tallest building in the World, which is used as a hotel. The hotel itself is built around an artificial island 280 m (920 ft) out from Jumeirah beach, and is connected to the main land via a private bridge. The hotel started construction in 1994, and took only four years for the construction ...

Holiday of a Lifetime

Advantages: Amazing Hotel in an amazing location
Disadvantages: Area not completely built yet

...so much to do? The Hilton has an excellent activities counter where you can book a wide variety of trips, for example in my one week stay I was able to go on a dune ride in the desert and camp out under the stars, and then the next day go down to the east coast snorkelling. The hotel even has its own private beach but I would not reccomend going on the beach during the summer as you will burn very easily as the heat can peak at 50 degrees C. There ...
