I'm back from Dubai from my trip from last winter, and I'm actually surprised to see so much information on this city !
I thought I'd be innovative in going there but when I got there, I relaised it was pretty famous .. and I understand why. From what other say (http://www.still-searching.com/hotels_in_dubai.html) the city and accomodation are just incredible ...
I didn't have the budget for the Burj Al ArabHotel ... but the Fairmont did the trick!
From my stay overthere, I got to see that Dubai offers the visitor a blend of modern city and timeless desert, east and west, old and new.
Why I went: exotic destination with a cosmopolitan lifestyle, comfort and convenience of the Western world with the unique charm and hospitality of Arabia!

As said previously you don't really tell us much about Dubai at all or even your own experience . You need to expand a little on the review to gain payment and higher ratings. You can add to your review at any time so if unsure how please don't be afraid to ask via my guest book. Try to read a few other reviews to see what type of information can be added. Fiona

Ok right, these are not exactly my own words, but they reflect exactly what I felt .. and it this sense I judge it a personal review ... would you agree? At the end of the day we are all influenced by what we see and read .. .

Advantages: A Bustling Nightlife, Very cheap Shopping with a huge array of different popular retail stores, Beautiful Hotels, Beautiful Beaches, Pleasant weather between October and April, Brilliant service in restaurants across the board, Lots to do Disadvantages: Alcohol is generally quite expensive, Ramadan (holy month of ramadan means that you must not eat or drink in public during the day)
Advantages: Dubai is a safe place with very good quality of life. There is universal brotherhood everywhere. Disadvantages: None for me, but the hot weather for tourists who are not used to this.
Advantages: Clean, safe, sophisticated, very friendly, modern, shopping! Offers the best of East and West Disadvantages: None (At present I really cant think of any..just hope too much tourism doesn’t kill the place in 10 years time!)

Advantages: Located on Jumeriah Beach, comfortable, relaxed and friendly atmosphere, SUPERB VALUE for money and quality for a 4 star hotel Disadvantages: none really - if you get a sea view room
