Dublin, The Home Of The Black Stuff
Review of Dublin (Ireland) by jacksback40

Advantages: Great Party Atmospere, Great Guinness, Great Time
Disadvantages: Not for Your "Horlicks, Pipe and Sliper folk

...know the track...it starts off...In Dublin Fair City... It was no wonder that for my 20th wedding anaversery last May, i invited two friends of ours to share it with us and make a week-end of it. So...we booked for a two night stay in Dublin Got the flight from Blackpool for about £20.00 each and booked into the Temple Bar hotel on Temple Bar (which is a well known, popular Dublin area) Heard a lot about the place, but to be honest on the way ...
...so much sence....I was in Dublin fair city...Let the party begin. If you are one for the odd tipple at crimbo and think two glasses is enough for anyone....Stay at home with your Horlicks, because this is the party city. Night club junk and Techno dont exist...this is the city where the fiddle is all you need to waken the dead. Every bar is alive with the sound of Dublin and there is an old Dubliner singing in most of them. The city does tend to ... Read review

Top of the morning to you
Review of Dublin in general by sashaholness

Advantages: Friendly people
Disadvantages: Bad weather

...however I don't think that Dublin has a lot to entertain children and families apart from... Dublin zoo was a great place for kids it has a safari park ride, a bus that takes you all around the park. It also has the biggest animals I have ever seen, like a huge Hippo and Gorilla. Great fun for kids. This is right next to phoneix park, a really big park where you can run around and it also has a kids playground. Also in the park is an obelisk with ...
...also available in Dublin but I would advise booking prior to your journey as we found ourselves dissappointed. Transport, you can get a bus to almost anywhere from the airport, if you go to the bus ticket depot inside the airport the ladies are very friendly and always ofer you the cheapest rot. However bus journeys can be long, alternative travel is The Dart (Train) from the city centre. The city centre starts of at O conell St which reminds me ... Read review

Scary but Funny
Review of Dublin Ghost Tours by ms19

Advantages: interesting, great atmosphere
Disadvantages: costly

...last of my reviews on Dublin as I am sure you are all sick of hearing about my visit. Anyway, while in Dublin yes it's nice to see older historical buildings but sometimes it is nice for a different type of attraction. In my hotel there was a leaflet on Dublin Sightseeing Tours, now, I am not really one for sitting on an open top bus while being driven about town but as I turned the page the bright yellow text reading Dublin Ghost Bus Tour caught ...
...it had been taken at Dublin Castle on her digital camera. I noticed at the Castle I had many orbs in my camera for those of you who do not know what that means basically it is a ball of spiritual energy. The tour lasts 2 hours and you are taken back to O'Connell Street by 10pm. This went really quick I felt, the longest stop being at the Graveyard. I did learn a lot about Dublin's Ghost history as well as having a laugh and on the way he points out ... Read review

SAVE THE SHOE LEATHER...GET A BUS
Review of Dublin Bus Tours by Emma1973

Advantages: Get to see most of Dublin, friendly guides
Disadvantages: None really

...you're ready to go! Although Dublin is a fairly small city some of the sights are a little hard to find and quite far apart, What to do? To save on the old shoe leather there's only one way to see the sights in Dublin and that's on one of the tour buses which can be seen all over the place. We went with the City Tour buses and the price for an all day ticket was only 10 euros (when am I going to get that symbol on my keyboard?). This allows you ...
...(the start of the tour) 9) Dublin Castle and City Hall 2) Writers Museum 10) St Patricks Cathedral 3) GPO/Henry St 11) Dublinia 4) Trinity College 12) Guinness Storehouse 5) Nassan Street 13) Museum of Modern Art 6) National Gallery 14) Dublin Zoo 7) St Stephens Green 15) National Museum 8) Tourism Centre 16) Old Jameson Distillery and The Chimney This may seem to be only a few stops but most other sights can be seen ... getting home at night
Review of Getting around in Dublin by emma_vince

Advantages: Good nitelink service
Disadvantages: not enough taxis

I've been visiting Dublin regularly for the last 7 years as my partner is from the fair city. Although it is very difficult to get a taxi home after a night out in the city, as demand far outstrips availabilty, there is a good nitelink bus service. I can only refer to the service we use, which is from the city centre to Lucan/ Celbridge; villages to the west of the city. The bus service runs til around 4am, and costs around E5 (as far as I can remember). ... Read review
