Trinity Capital
Advantages: Quirky, friendly, location. Disadvantages: next door to fire station
This hotel was absolutely fab!! The decor was quirky, it was in a great location and would definitely stay again.
Food - Breakfast good, full english including black and white pudding. Not a huge choice of cereals or pastries but enough to satisfy.
Service - All the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Bedrooms - Standard double was of an ok size. Bed was big and comfortable. Very clean, maids came in daily to tidy, change towels and sheets. ... ...other hotels I have stayed in).
Location - In the centre of Dublin close enought to walk to Grafton street and Temple Bar but far away enough to not hear the noise!! There is a fire station next door but you don't really hear much from this. There are a couple of local pubs on the next road to the hotel that are worth a visit. Spar located just 1 min walk from hotel.
Bar/Restaurant - Lovely furniture and terraces to sit in peace and privacy.
Overall ...

An old converted castle with a cleaning problem
Advantages: Location, decor, comforable rooms, good bus service close by Disadvantages: Badly cleaned rooms & a constant problem
...booked us in at the Clontarf Hotel, an old castle that had been converted to a hotel. It's situated away form the city centre in a rather nice suburb of Dublin close to the waterside. If you haven't got a car with you, you'll need to rely on public transport or taxis. There is a fairly reliable bus service close by & it was keenly priced. The cost was approx £53.00 per night (depending on exchange rate) for a four night stay, one night only can be ... ...an impressive lobby, who ever converted it, did a tasteful & professional job. We were quickly checked in & found our rooms comfortable & quite well equipped. It was a hot August weekend & the room had no air conditioning, but of more concern was our dirty bath. We had the remains of the previous person's 'tide mark' left in the bath!! We reported it to the staff & it was quickly cleaned up.
Food at the hotel bar was served on the weekday afternoon ...

Dublin Hilton deserves a toast in Guinness
Advantages: Excellent Dublin base with good service Disadvantages: None really

There was also a Sony Playstation, but I'm not into them so didn't use it, but I guess it would make the hotel family friendly for many! Best of all - on the coffee table by the chaise longue was a note saying "compliments of the Hilton" in front of a half bottle of red wine and a box containing 2 truffles, one milk chocolate and the other white choccy. Obviously for the ...

When the going get tough, leave the Mont Clare
Advantages: South-central location, adjoining pub Disadvantages: Price, service-level, chintz
The Mont Clare hotel is part of the O'Callaghan hotel group that encompasses the Davenport and Alexander Hotels, with all three in close proximity to each other. Of the three, the Mont Clare is the cheapest and lowest rated (3-stars). Unfortunately, it charges 4-star pricing that really isn't deserved by any stretch of the imagination.
My overwhelming impression the moment I walked in the door was brass: lots of it. This was immediately before the ... ...is a struggle. The Mont Clare is located on a busy stretch of Dublin's one-way system through the Merrion Square area. The fact that it's a main junction probably doesn't help the noise levels, purely because there's a low drone followed by the sound of scores of cars and buses accelerating on green. Unfortunately, in the land of Dublin, this means traffic noise levels are definitely noticeable late into the night, particularly from Wednesday onwards, ...

Dublin's trendiest and most modern hotel
Advantages: Great location and very stylish Disadvantages: None to think of
Dublin's trendiest hotel by far. The interior is designed by famous Irishman John Rocha who most famously designs jewellery and clothes for Debenhams. It is very stylish inside, with dark wood and cream leather giving the hotel an Asian feel I haven't experienced anywhere before.
The rooms are each individually designed with paintings and fur throws. They come with a host of amenities including minibar, TV, radio, CD player, QueenSize bed and great ... ...The location is truly superb, close to Millenium Bridge that leads you to the Temple Bar area, full of bars and restaurants, whilst just 3 minutes walk takes you into the centre of town which is a shoppers paradise, with the main high street stores you will find in the UK, along with nice Irish department stores.
This hotel is well recommended, for business and pleasure. I will certainly be returning. ...
