Abbey Hotel, Dublin
Review of Abbey Hotel, Dublin by dandan88

Advantages: Central, Clean
Disadvantages: Basic Facilities

I stayed in this lovely little hotel in Febuary of this year (2006). Arriving from Dublin Int. Airport, I found it very easy to find from the bus stop on O'Connel Street (only 5 min walk from 'The Spire' / centre). Check in is not till early afternoon, so if arriving in the morning, make sure you have something to do/planned for the time between arrivial and check in. The rooms are small, but comfortable and cean. My room consisted of two beds, ...
...making a hot drink, bed side table with lamp, spaceous closet. The en-suit bathroom had a bath with mounted wall shower and curtain, large sink and toilet. Towels were provided and changed on request. I paid for breakfast in the morning, which was served between 7-10am. The options were a cereal and yoghurt combination, full Irish breakfast or an ommlette. I went for the full Irish which was very pleasant. There is also a selection of breads/toast, ... Read review

A little bit of luxury
Review of Clarion Hotel Liffey Valley, Dublin by shazzaquinn

Advantages: Staff, rooms, food
Disadvantages: Location not central

I've stayed in this hotel several times on weekend visits to Dublin. The hotel is several miles outside of the City Centre which would be a negative point for those without transport but as I was driving, it wasn't an issue. The hotel itself is very modern & aesthetically pleasing and the rooms were out of this world - spacious, luxurious and very clean. Although we didn't eat in the restaurant we did have room service and found the food to be good ...
...as I mentioned previously, the location might be a problem for those who are not driving as there didn't appear to be any public transport that travelled directly by. There is also the advantage of the huge Liffey Valley Shopping Centre, just 5 mins walk away, which is home to hundreds of shops, cafes and fast food restaurants as well as a cinema. ... Read review

Holiday Inn at Dublin Aiport, Dublin
Review of Holiday Inn Dublin Airport, Dublin by mabi

Advantages: good location
Disadvantages: none

an excellent hotel very close to the airport. ideal for late arrivals or early departures. the hotel caters for people's needs well, including disposable razors and toiletries if you forget them or if luggage has been lost somewhere- it does happen. the food and drink service is excellent and the staff aim to cater for your dietary needs as well. it is family friendly and the rooms are spacious and have double glazing. there is a courtesy bus ... The Ardmore Hotel, Dublin
Review of Ardmore Hotel, Dublin by ouriach

Advantages: Bargain price.
Disadvantages: Slightly too far from town if you're interested in a long term stay.

...the terrible reviews for the Ardmore hotel i was really rather skeptical about staying there. I booked for two nights on the 8th july for me and my girlfriend and i was on edge throughout the whole journey because of the reviews that i had read. However, the journey from the airport was a rapid one and one that didn't break the bank! We were welcomed to the hotel with a smile, the only problem with checking in was that we had to wait until 12 to ...
...This was understandable though and couldn't be helped. Although the hotel is situated 2.5 miles from th city centre it really isnt that far. It is a pleasant walk through a few towns (if youve got the time that is) and we enjoyed it a lot. Alternatively you could catch the bus...this was an experience for us. I warn you that Irish buses require the exact fee for the journey (to the city centre it is €1.70 per person to the city centre). The bedroom ... Read review

Trinity Capital
Review of Trinity Capital Hotel, Dublin by johodgkinson83

Advantages: Quirky, friendly, location.
Disadvantages: next door to fire station

This hotel was absolutely fab!! The decor was quirky, it was in a great location and would definitely stay again. Food - Breakfast good, full english including black and white pudding. Not a huge choice of cereals or pastries but enough to satisfy. Service - All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Bedrooms - Standard double was of an ok size. Bed was big and comfortable. Very clean, maids came in daily to tidy, change towels and sheets. ...
...other hotels I have stayed in). Location - In the centre of Dublin close enought to walk to Grafton street and Temple Bar but far away enough to not hear the noise!! There is a fire station next door but you don't really hear much from this. There are a couple of local pubs on the next road to the hotel that are worth a visit. Spar located just 1 min walk from hotel. Bar/Restaurant - Lovely furniture and terraces to sit in peace and privacy. Overall ... Read review
