Dublin has a wonderful mix of the old, the attractively dingy and the interestingly modern. The atmosphere in the pubs is as warm as all the old cliches hint at. Dubliners are friendly and opinionated - helped along by a good few pints of the fabulous creamy Guinness, a quick visit to a pub turns into a long memorable night! AVoid the centre and it's burger bars and skirt round the edges for some local colour. If you're on a tight budget or want to save your money for the Guinness, you can get decent three-course set meals at a fixed price.
