...We went to Ireland for half term with our three year old and had a great time however I don't think that Dublin has a lot to entertain children and families apart from...
Dublinzoo was a great place for kids it has a safari park ride, a bus that takes you all around the park. It also has the biggest animals I have ever seen, like a huge Hippo and Gorilla. Great fun for kids. This is right next to phoneix park, a really big park where you can run around and it also has a kids playground. Also in the park is an obelisk with a picture of the battle of waterloo.
Horse riding is also available in Dublin but I would advise booking prior to your journey as we found ourselves dissappointed.
Transport, you can get a bus to almost anywhere from the airport, if you go to the bus ticket depot inside the airport the ladies are very friendly...

Advantages: the sights-read ahead! Disadvantages: the euro and the prices of drinks!
...I recently went to Dublin on a weekend trip organised by the residence association at my university. and quelle experience!!
The trip itself was a bargain- with mytravellite- we got flight and 2 nights accomodation for just £45! bargain-argain! 42 of us stayed in a hostel called Jacobs Inn, which was about ten minutes walk from the city centre. unfortunately, having got up at an hour previously unknown to us students, we were thoroughly prepared to throw ourselves into our (bunk)beds the second we got there at 9am. this wasn't to be. we were not allowed to have our rooms until 3pm-which caused much aggravation. Straight away we had to get to grips with the Euro in cafe serving not-quite-fatty enough fry ups. Three of us then proceeded to Dublinzoo which was utterly wonderful and took our minds off the bleary eyes for a good few hours...

Its all happening down at the zoo and its still happening a year later. This game as simple and repetitive as it first appears is actually one of the most addictive puzzlers I have ever played. Any how about the game.
