Dudley Zoo,
Well were do I start,
I first went to Dudley as a teenager with a group of friends on a trip from our local youth club, were although we thought it was going to be a bit boring, we discovered it was a great and fascinating place,
I have since returned a few times with my children, as little ones and when they were teenagers, and they have enjoyed it every time,
Although I'm not overly fond of the idea of kept wildlife, I do understand that some times there is no alternative, if we wish to aid in preserving there future. And nobody does it better than Dudley.
It is home to some of the Worlds most rare and exotic creatures, especially endangered species such as Asiatic lions, Sumatran tigers, lemurs, penguins, chimps and orang-utans.
We had a great time, the kids still tell people about the extra long purple tongues that the Giraffes have ughh.
My Daughter loved the chimps in particular said they reminded her of her brother,

My son was also fascinated that although a crocodile's mouth was as big as his sisters, it cannot stick its tongue out like she does, constantly.

There is plenty places to eat and drink, which actually were quite reasonable and not bad quality food.
Also dotted around the Zoo grounds are plenty of picnic areas and benches, which is a great way to enjoy lunch if you've got the weather,

There is also a kiddies corner for the younger ones, with rabbits, goats etc, where the children get to interact with the animals, My daughter although 13 still loves this part of it.

See-in the Tigers and Lions was the pinnacle for us all, they are just so beautiful.

There is also Dudley Castle, which is a cracking place to walk around, and get a feel for the past,
Although I haven't been on one, apparently they do ghost walks around the castle at set times.

There's actually so much to see and do, it would take me hours to write it all down.
They have a web site you can visit for all relevant information and prices.
The web site also gives you all the information on how to get there, rail, bus and car routes etc:
They are open all year round except for Christmas day
