Advantages: Good value, immaculate, 4 Star Disadvantages: Language problems
I stayed at the Melia White House hotel in June 2008, on my first trip to London. Finding our way from Heathrow T5 to the hotel, negotiating the underground, was surprisingly easy, as the hotel is situated within 5 minutes walk of Great Portland St underground station, just outside leafy Regents Park. Warren St and Regents Park underground stations are also within 10 minutes walk in either direction.
The hotel may not look a lot from the exterior, however step inside and the reception is bright, airy and spacious. The reception area is immaculate and covered in marble, and expensive looking antiques.
The hotel has 581 rooms over 8 floors (283 Classic rooms, 158 Superior rooms, 28 Triple rooms, 62 Executive Level rooms, 42 Junior Suites, 2 Master Suites, 1 Residential Suite and 5 Disabled rooms).
We were booked into a Classic ...
Advantages: Good Location, average cost, close to local amenities Disadvantages: Bit of a time warp, lack of car parking
Bournemouth has now become my boyfriend's second home due to a recent promotion and the Durley Hall is where he takes additional residence.
As his girlie I do get to accompany him on the odd trip to Bournemouth when my job permits so as he is there as we speak I decided to write review on the hotel itself.
***Location***
Durley Hall is located on Durley Chine Road on the West Cliff in Bournemouth.
The hotel is in a great location and well within walking distance to many of the amenities. Each time that I stay down there I end up walking from the hotel to the town centre, it takes about 10 minutes and is a pretty pleasant walk.
The beach is also just 10 minutes at the bottom of the hill and very close to a pub to rehydrate after your short brisk walk.
***Appearance***
From the front of the hotel it does appear to be somewhat ...
Advantages: Fantastic Display Disadvantages: Bit hot and stuffy!
Me and my girlfriend took a trip on Wednesday to Syon Park (based in Brentford, Middlesex) and decided to pay a visit to the London Butterfly House which is on the grounds of Syon Park close to the car park.
It cost us £5.25 each to get in which I dont think is bad at all! and they give you a ticket which is valid for the whole day so you can come and go as many times as you like for the day.
I wasn't sure what to expect but was amazed upon entry, It seemed sort of like a bird avary, and looked like a little jungle. There were small bridges with little streams running beneath and had several little twist's and turns leading to different area's. As we walked in the butterfly were flying everywhere, hundred's maybe even thousands it truely looked like a mini rainforest.
The colours of the butterfly were vibrant and the species ...
