The Dusit Resort Hua Hin Hotel is located on the west coast of the Gulf of Siam, between Cha-am and Hua Hin, Thailand. This beachfront property preserves the tradition of classic hospitality, as this area was developed in the 1920s as a resort destination that catered to the aristocracy. This property is a short flight or approximately a three-hour drive from Bangkok. Dining options abound, ranging from authentic Royal Thai and international favorites served at Ban Benjarong to fine continental cuisine offered at The Ascot. Gymkhana Bar refreshes parched guests with cooling cocktails they listen to live music, and Rim Talay is a beachfront bar that serves barbequed seafood. The stunning focal point of this resort is an expansive ornamental lake that borders the tropical gardens surrounding an expansive outdoor pool. When pleasure and corporate ambitions intersect, this resort provides a business center and flexible meeting space, including the Napalai Ballroom that accommodates up to 900 people. On site, guests will encounter multiple recreational amenities such as horseback riding, water sports, squash and tennis courts, and a fitness center.
Advantages: Lovely rooms, nice touches like petals on your bed Disadvantages: Some may find the location too far from Hua Hin centre
...We stayed at Kaban Tamor in December 2002. It's a lovely small resort in Khao Takiab on the outskirts of HuaHin.
The rooms are cute little round bungalows and were spotlessly clean and very romantic - they sprinkled petals on your bed every morning which we thought was lovely.
The restaurant was good - we had lunch there several times but only ate there a couple of times at night as we preferred to go into HuaHin centre. It was quite romantic at night, as you can sit at candlelit tables very close to the sea. The food was authentic and spicy, and the staff were friendly. Breakfast was fine, perfectly adequate but nothing special, as is the norm in most Thai hotels. The pool is quite small but very refreshing to swim in and was rarely too busy when we were there - it could be hard to get a sun lounger round the pool though...

...Well, HuaHin is not much far from Bangkok, only 3 hours southwest of Bangkok. I have known that here is claimed as the Thailand's oldest beach resort. This beach is located in the western side of Thai Gulf,in Prachuap Khiri Khan province, here is very peaceful and essentially relaxing. I don't like Pattaya, where is very crowded....as well as the water sport is provided overthere.
I can give you some example places to visit if you can visit there...Khao Tao, Khao-Sam-Roi-Yot where is a National Park-there is a famous cape to see but i forgot the name...well, there's not bad to spend one of your weekend,i think........

Advantages: 5 Star luxury at affordable prices. Disadvantages: A little off the beaten track.
...From the moment you arrive at the impressive front entrance with its long sweeping driveway you can tell that this hotel has 'class'.
Situated on the edge of Huahin (yet easily reached by foot in 15/20 minutes) the complex has low rise beautiful accomodation set around stunning gardens and pools and across from the enormous free form swimming pool (which has a wicked steep slide..not for the faint hearted!) lies a gorgeous stretch of white powdery sand.Turn right on the beach and your'e headed for the gigantic golden statue of Buddha which towers over the rocky headland. The local monks will be glad to see you and you can have them pray with you and give you a twisted coloured rope bracelet which is supposed to keep you from harm and bring you peace.
Turn left and you can walk into town, this will take you close to the King of Thailands...

We've just come back from a week at this hotel, and I must say it was very disappointing.
The rooms were very basic, although they were well cleaned, and in good condition (we were staying in the second block at the back, which I think is relatively... more
