The standard and price of resturants in dusseldorf varies greatly, so I have decided to split this section in two, with recommendations for business travellers and for those on a tighter budjet. Firstly for business travellers, there are two Italian resturants that i would highly recommend. The first is La Terraza which is located looking over the Konigsalle providing a very nice view. The menu here is some what limited and the food expensive, but the quality and view make this well worth a visit. The second resutrant is Rossini which is located on the tram line number U79 at the stop Nordstrasse. This resturant has a slightly larger menu as well as boasting an excellent wine menu, but again is somewhat expensive. Another premium resturant is Im Schiffchen which is located in the subarb Kaiserswerth which is also on the same tram line, a twenty minute ride from the city centre. This is widely considered to be the finest resturant in Dusseldorf, again with a ´surperb wine menu but with prices reflecting the quality and service. While this is the best a meal for two with wine cand easily run into a four figure sum in DM, which is in excess of 350 pounds. The final greman resturant is the Weinhaus Tante Anna, which is located in the Dusseldorf Altstadt. This resturant boasts quality german cusine and an impressive wine menu and is moderately expensive. Finally in this section I would recommend tha japanese resturant edo´s which s located accross the Rhine in the subarb of Oberkassel. In a city of many Japanese people this is considered to be the finest Japanses cusine and again is rather pricy.

Some resturants which fit both groups are Block House, located in the Altstadt which is a steakhouse serving American beef, as well as the steakhouses Marredo, and Churrasco. The Utalian resturant Arrlevecchio is aslo to be recommended for its excellent cuisine and hospitality and very reasonable prices. The pick however of the more moderate resturants is the Italian resturant La Pizzaetta, which is located next to the resturant Rossini, and while still having an excellent wine menu, the menu is wide enough to include pizza, making it suitable for families as well. This is the resturant which I would rate overall in terms of quality, servive, value for money and friendliness as the best resturant in dusseldorf.
