...there are many temples in tibet .Kumbum is one of the best one . The great pagoda is consisted of 9 tiers, over 32m, has more than 77 chapels, shrines and chortens,it is said when the monk died, their body will be burned, and only left their one of bone,look very shine and put this bone in a pagoda.
when you get there ,i think you will surprise at its special character
it is really a good place to visit. but one problem is that the tickets is difficult to buy,as there are many tourists from all over the world every day. so when you would like to pay a visit it ,please book your tackets at advance online or ask your friends for help ....

"…because the yaks keep falling off the mountain and your dad shouts at you" I finished with him, smiling. I was surprised he remembered.
That was the start of it. A television programme some 20 or 30 years ago about this fascinating country in the Himalaya, where being a monk was still an occupation of choice, where travel was difficult, and the scenery astonishing; where there was no distinction between myth and history. That was it. I wanted to go to Bhutan.
Years passed, and the dream trip lay simmering somewhere buried in that maelstrom of unvisited places that forms the focus of my ambitions. I went to Nepal. I read Seven Years in Tibet. Then, there it was, hidden on the website, not greatly drawing...

PARO DZONG & TA DZONG: the main complex the Rinchen Pung Dzong (fortress on a jewel-heap) goes back to the fortress building campaign that seems to have swept the country in the mid seventeenth century. It frequently saw action in defending the valley against the Tibetans and survived 19th century earthquakes, but was nearly destroyed by fire in 1907. Our approach from directly below, up the steep mountain path, gives a clue as to its strength in the days before roads and mechanised transport. It still has only a single entrance.
