The Etaphotels can be compared with Mc Donald or Burger King very well. One gets off, one can be sure, what expects one and natural the other way round also, what one mustn't expect from Aix-la-Chapelle to Zwickau -- identical where.
As a Low budget hotel the Etap confines itself to the essential. The rooms dispose a basin, shower, toilet, desk, television set and alarm clock, of a big French bed, another sleep possibility for a third person in form of a bunk bed.
The Etap in Munich stands out due to the separation from shower and toilet and the available air conditioner in comparison with other Etaps.
Despite proximity to the main street many driven on the rooms are quietly and well isolated for closed window.

Lübeck is one of the three North German cities which were famed for their independence from the rest of Germany. They were part of the Hansa League, which grew rich from the North Sea trade. To this day they still retain the title Hansastadt before their names. The other two are Hamburg and Bremen, but I find Lübeck to be the most interesting of all.
Like all major German cities Lübeck was extensively bombed during WWII and most of it's beautiful buildings were destroyed. Six of it's seven famous churches were totally destroyed and only now through careful restoration is Lübeck regaining the name 'City of the Seven Towers'. Most of the Old Town has been lovingly restored and is worthy of the UNESCO title.

When I first moved to Strasbourg I had no accommodation and had to live in a hotel for a little while. Fortunately someone had recommended the Etaphotel and it was a great place.
The hotel is located opposite the station, across the grassy area and gave me a great view from my window. There was a little traffic noise but not enough to disturb you. There's a Mc Donald's nearby as well as another restaurant (I forget the name) which offers a discount to those staying in the hotel. Being opposite the station, it's well located for getting the train or tram somewhere, or alternatively you can just walk.
The room was about ?46 a night and when my friend also arrived, it was only a few quid more to add her into my room. Most of the rooms consist of a double bed with a single bunk on top, but because I was there for quite a long stay ...
