Advantages: Sheer heaven! The place to go and relax! Disadvantages: Shared facilities can create a lack of privacy
...I truly adore this place and, in four visits, I have worked my way up the ladder towards true, utter bliss.
The first time I went, I didn't even get to go inside - it was simply a very stunning and picturesque spot from which to embark upon a champagne balloon flight that Amanda had bought me as a present.
The second time was a delicious working lunch (that felt quite illicit) with my female boss, Lynda, in their sumptuous "Manor restaurant".
The third time was another lunch - this time, I took my wife, Amanda.
And finally, I decided to treat Amanda and baby Josh to the ultimate EastwellManor experience - a night at the hotel. The "Wow Factor" can hardly be better defined. Rack rates for standard rooms are about £220. Via "Late rooms", however, I managed to get bed-and-breakfast for just £69 and at that price, it would...

...Tankersley Manor is a place that I have been to a few times over the years and it was also the location of my work's Christmas Party at the end of last year.
It is a well known Hotel and Restaurant with a good local reputation.
THE BACKGROUND
From the outside Tankersley Manor is quite impressive to say the least, standing in its own well maintained Gardens and Grounds and surrounded by Woodland the building itself is a rather imposing Stone built building.
The Hotel as you see it today has been extensively restored but it has been built around a 17th Century Manor House that once occupied the location.
THE FACILITIES
Tankersley Manor has a Restaurant, a Health Club and 70 rooms all with en suite facilities. Much of the building has been restored to its original character and there are original Oak beams on the ceilings...

Advantages: Great for conferences Disadvantages: Not overly romantic...if you want romance!
...Tankersley manor
On a recent conference, I travelled to Barnsley and stayed in the four star Tankersley Manor Hotel, which is one of the Marston Group of hotels
**Getting there**
The hotel is situated between Sheffield and Barnsley
From North and South-follow the M1
From East-take the M18 then join M1 North towards Sheffield/Leeds
From West-take M62. Leave at Junction 29, which becomes Junction 42 of the M1
Exit the M1 at Junction 36 and follow the signs for A61 Sheffield. After half a mile, turn left onto Church Lane and Tankersley Manor is on the right.
If travelling by train, it is about 3 / 4 miles from Barnsley train station and costs about £9.
**ENTRANCE**
When we drove in through the large gates, what struck me initially was the number of car parking spaces. This is definitely one place which has set...
