Easyjet has to be the best known no frills airline. You have to admit, almost everyone you will ever speak to will recognise the Easyjet brand or the bright orange planes!
Unlike another of the low frills airlines *ahem*, Easyjet flies into more of the main airports instead of the small airports no one has ever heard of!

To keep their costs low:
Easyjet do not supply tickets, you are sent an email which will give you all your details. You then take this email to the check in desk and are checked in then you are given a boarding pass.
No free food! You are not given a free meal during your jouney when flying Easyjet. This means there is no waste if a passenger doesnt eat their meal. You can purchase food onboard, more about that later!
Easyjets offices are 'paperless', all their administration is on a IT system!

--Booking online--
First you complete, your departure airport, arrival airport, dates and number of passengers. You will then be shown a list of flights available on or close to the day you selected. The earliest flights are at the top of the list. You sometimes have to look at taking a later flight as it can get alot cheaper! You can also add speedy boarding to your flight. Speedy Boarding means you are called first to board the aircraft/bus. More later :o) You can also add insurance for your trip, single trip to Europe is around £17.00 and additional hold bags and sports equipment. Your hold allowance is 20KG, you will be charged for anything over that.
At the bottom of the page you are shown the total cost of your flights. This is where the 'hidden' charges are shown. The duties and taxes are usually larger than the actual cost of your flight., pretty poor show!
Not really much you can do about that though.
You then have to register with Easyjet. Pretty simple, name, address, and a few small details and your done and ready to book!
Once you have your flights and are happy with the cost you can book your tickets. After re-checking the flight details and the costs you just fill in your card details, check them and then you are done! Extremely easy! Within 20 minutes you have an email flight comfirmation. Insurance documents are sent seperately, there are a lot of pages so make sure you have alot of ink in your printer!
Thats it, all booked!
You can only cancel your flight upto 24hrs after you've booked, any later than this and you dont get your money back!

--Confirmation Email--
Your confirmation email contains all the information you need on your flight. Flight times and numbers, expected arrival times and phone numbers incase you need to call them.
When you check in you just need to provide your passport and this confirmation and your ready!

--The Flight--
There seems to be a habit for Easyjet to always leave a few minutes late, dont let this worry you as they always seem to make it up when your in the sky,
Easyjet so not allocate seats, the earlier you check in the more chance you have of getting the seat you want. You are checked in in five groups 'PB' 'A' 'B' 'C' and 'D'. People with speedy boarding or children are called to board the aircraft first. Then A B C and finally D. Just because you are called first doesnt always mean you will get onto the aircraft first, you may just get onto the bus first! Although i would definately reccomend checking in as soon as possible to try and get a seat you want!
The planes are very clean, once you look at the price you paid for your flight you would imagine the plane to be pretty run down but i thought they were very impressive. All cleaned and no funny smells anywhere! After everyone has boarded you are then shown the safety demo which 90% of people ignore! There is a safety card, magazine and menu in the mesh carrier on the chair infront of you. The magazine is pretty informative, if not a bit dog-earred. Especially good if you didnt bring anything to do on the plane, there are no entertainment systems onboard so if you dont bring anything to do then the magazine is your best chance of entertainment!
About 30mins into the flight they bring round the food trolley. There is a nice array of food including sandwiches, baguttes, soups and pizza! You can also order alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks. I had a pepperoni pizza and glass of wine and it cost £6.00 which i didnt think was too bad. The pizza was freshly warmed up (!?) and about the size of a large slice of pizza over here. The wine was also very nice.
The rest of the flight was pretty uneventful although they do bring around the gift trolley which does have some nice stuff on. Make-up, purfume and toys for the kids.
The captain comes on the tannoy at regular intervals and lets you know where you are into the flight.
The cabin crew were testing a new uniform on our flight which had a black cardigan to go over the very garish orange shirt they have to wear and i thought it looked much better than the old uniform. All the staff on the flight looked extremely young, but they were very nice and polite and quick to help if you needed anything.
When you land in Luton you definately know which one is the Easyjet hanger. The doors are painted top to bottom in bright orange!
You are insructed to stay in your seat with your seatbelt fastened while you are taxing to the terminal but everyone seems to ignore that and carries on pulling their bags from the overhead locker.
Ahhhhh back on solid ground!

--When there are problems--
I havent had any problems with Easyjet myself but from the one thing i did ask they couldnt have done any better.
After a rainy week in Lisbon we wanted to get home as soon as possible so arrived at the airport a (good) few hours before our flight. Noticing a flight 3 hours before ours to Luton we thought we'd ask if they could swap us and put us onto the earlier flight. We were expecting to pay at least £20 admin fee each, let alone a difference in fares, so were amazed when their customer service staff handed our passports back with our new boarding passes and said 'have a good flight' without expecting any money!
Great service there Easyjet i have to give you that!

--Would i reccomend them?--
Definately! The fares are cheap and the service is great so im more than happy to fly with them and reccomend them to anyone who asks!
If your fare does come up quite expensive it might be good to look at one of the larger airlines are they seem to be permanently having sales to claw back some customers that have gone to Easyjet!
