?The Diary Of An ATL Brave? came as a mixtape from the Atlanta-based rapper Donnis in summer 2009. You get the artist backed by Mick Boogie and DJ Benzi, who host, as he comes through with some material that is designed to move away from the general sounds of the Dirty South and the Hip Hop that is based in Gangsta Rap as he does things in the Hipster Rap format (and so can be likened to the fellow Georgian Bobby Ray (formerly known as B.o.B.).

For some of you looking to settle down in a city that is metropolitan and yet affordable, then this is one option you shouldn't overlook. Normally, we think of cities like New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and the rest as real metro cities and true they are. But Atlanta, not having perhaps half of the skyscrapers these other cities have is a big contender for the person that wants to have a bit of both urban and sub-urban worlds in one city.
My first surprise was when we were approaching touch down. there being so much haze in the air I could not see the city skyline from a distance, but what was the real surprise was the amount of forest scattered across the city. Yes forest, not just trees. Atlanta is a heavily wooded city. It's a bit hard to describe cos I've not encountered a city with so much greenery.

Advantages: great fun, historical and vibrant city Disadvantages: if you can't handle humid weather it might not be the best place for you
the city. Information can be picked up at any local tourist information centre.
The Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site is a self-guided tour through buildings of importance such as EbenezerBaptistChurch where Dr. King worshipped and preached. Tours of the birth home are separate and usually book up quickly. I would advise going very early in the day or you could end up waiting several hours. www.nps.gov/malu/
There are also free tours of the Georgia State Capitol building and Governor's mansion. When touring the State Capitol building there are very informative staff who will tell you the history of the building itself and a bit about how state government works. I remember years ago visiting the Governor's mansion and seeing some children in pyjamas running around in the non-visitor area. I always thought it must be hard ...
