Review of Edinburgh in general by SweetTooth93

Advantages: Lots to do,great for tourits, shopping, eating out.
Disadvantages: Gets very busy in Summer months, weather can be dreadful

...would plan days out to Edinburgh and I used to get so excited. She'd pick me up very early in the morning just after Breakfast and we'd take the train through. We'd arrive at Waverly train station and go for a drink and doughnut or cake before we hit the shops. Then we'd go onto Princes street and shop untill we dropped until lunchtime. Then, we'd go for lunch in either John Lewis Cafe, or another department store cafe, or we'd find a nice little ...

Review of Edinburgh (Scotland) by al1986st

Advantages: Friendly, buetiful, lots to do. cheep
Disadvantages: wether, very busy duing summer

I lived in edinburgh for 18 years, and I must say it is a very beutiful place to stay or go to for a visit. TO STAY IN EDINBURGH Edinburgh is a great place to stay in, the best place to get a house or flat will be outside the the city centre, areas in the South or East of the city centre, there are many shopping complexes to get all of your household and personal needs, cameron toll, st james centre, the fort, will get you everything you need, ...
...to do a weekend in edinburgh is not long enough, i would recomend at least a week there. Places recommend visiting the castle, dungons, witchery tour, scots monument, princes street gardens. as well as many resterunts and bars for which to take a break and get a bit to eat during your day, There are also many great shopping venues to visit, most of which are mentined above, as well as a princes street shopping as well. The nightlife in edinburgh ... Read review

Edinburgh City of Dreams.
Review of Getting around in Edinburgh by elinor.z

Advantages: To Experience the Ancient & Modern beauty of this wonderful city.
Disadvantages: Only if you are disabled or in a wheelchair.

...of the day was spent getting to know the locals. Mixing with the many visitors, and taking some wonderful photos, and still not having the time to see it all. The following morning I awoke really early, refreshed and happy to start my morning in the park, before returning to the airport. It was a beautiful day, the sun highlighting everything around with a soft glow. Edinburgh is gorgeous. I wandered around taking photographs enough to fill an album, ...
...I sat with a coffee watching the people go by. Time to go. The bus to the airport was waiting above. I got on it and was soon queuing to board…..Except, I was almost a whole hour too late. My flight was already almost touching down in Newquay. What had I done. The magic of Scotland had lulled me to stay one more day… Only one flight a day, of course. My partner had not yet left home for the airport. He would meet me tomorrow. The price of transferring ... Read review

Step out from the crowds
Review of The Borders Scotland by Jossland

Advantages: Beautiful countryside, Freedom and Fresh Air
Disadvantages: none if you like Nature

...was very much involved in the "rat race", running to catch the underground ….mind the step…..… .racing to get my train and doing my journey back home standing and swaying about in a smelly, sweaty, overcrowded compartment. I was more and more fed up with the rat race, the competition, the shoving and the pushing and decided to quit my job, sell my house and see where the wind would take me. A call from my daughter in Scotland decided of my future. ...
...I could see then were the very stern looking buildings, grey skies, sheep, sheep and more sheep…. baaaaaaaa……….and people I could not understand….not for me. But for some very strange reason, which until today I cannot explain, the removal van headed towards Scotland!!!! My daughter asked me to come and live with her. She found a large house near Hawick, in the Borders, on top of a hill uninhabited for the last 20 years!!! No water, no electricity…great ... Read review

Edinburgh: Shopper's Delight
Review of Edinburgh (Scotland) by ananya123

Advantages: You can reach any corner of Edinburgh within half hour of bus ride.
Disadvantages: Roads are not as buggy friendly as in London

...heavily when we arrived in Edinburgh after a gruesome night journey on mega bus. Before moving further, my advice to young and old alike is that plan your trip in advance and opt for cheap easy jet deals than bus travel. Buses are totally medieval in form and seats. Even in India we got a better deal when we went from Bangalore to Ootty. At least seats could be pushed backwards and there was space to stretch legs. What to see: Anyways, after arriving ...
...friends) went to watch the Edinburgh Museum which is at royal mile. It is very absorbing and meticulously organized. The artefacts and models trace the history of Edinburgh. Museum of Childhood: It is some what similar to Doll museum in Delhi. There are toys and games of all kinds from many parts of the world. Ananya went berserk with joy on seeing so many of her favourite items (which include dolls, teddy bears, train sets and cycles). It was very ... Read review
