MY MISSUS LIKES IT FAST
Review of Holiday Inn Express, Edinburgh Leith by phil2001

Advantages: Location,Price,Cleanliness
Disadvantages: None I could find

...I saw an ad for Holiday Inn Express and thought I'd check out their prices. I like Holiday Inn's anyway but found the rooms in the city itself a bit too pricey this time, anyway this is my review of the accommodation less the raunchy parts!... = HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS - EDINBURGH, LEITH = Location:~ All though on the website it is advertised as city, it is slightly on the outskirts, it is situated on a new development on the quayside ...
...the new quayside building called Queens Terminal which is also handy for visiting the Royal Yacht Britannia which is moored just around the corner. The main city itself such as Princess Street or 'The Golden Mile' is approximately about 30-45 minutes walk away from the hotel, by bus no.22 which stops outside the hotel and runs every 10 minutes during the day costs about 80p,the bus will drop you on Princess St. and takes about 15mins. From the airport ... Read review

The Murrayfield Hotel
Review of The Murrayfield Hotel, Edinburgh by veramck

Advantages: close to Murrayfield stadium
Disadvantages: unprofessional staff lack of cleanliness

...I had booked tickets to the Scotland V Ireland rugby game at Murrayfield unfortunately due to the foot and mouth outbreak this trip was postponed until September. We had booked our tickets and a 2 night stay with dinner bed and breakfast at the Murrayfield Hotel, for a family of four this cost around £70 pp per night there where no child reductions due to it being a rugby weekend and this included a matchday programme for all members of the party. ...
...we arrived we where given the keys to our rooms. Our bedroom was comfortable but the bathroom floor was not the cleanest which I put down to the maid having overlooked as previously we had not had any complaints. However on further inspection there where quite a few cobwebs in the room which led us to believe that the room had not been cleaned thoroughly for quite some time. Now I realise certain times of the year the Edinburgh hotels are very busy ... Read review

Bargain break in the city
Review of The Roxburghe Hotel, Edinburgh by WeeDee83

Advantages: Lovely rooms, helpful staff.
Disadvantages: No parking, view wasn't the greatest!

...I stayed at the Roxburghe Hotel last year with my fiance for the weekend. It is part of the MacDonalds hotel chain. Was a bit tricky to find it on Charlotte square but the annoying part was trying to find a nearby car park as the hotel has no parking facilites. The hotel itself was very nice indeed! The staff were very friendly and helpful on every occasion. Did feel a bit out of place in my jeans and old trainers but all the same we didn't get ...
...queen size comfortable bed. The only thing that wasn't too nice was our view, you opened the curtains and saw a ledge with some dead birds and rubbish on it. Nice!! Room service was excellent. Mini bar was stocked full but i don't touch these as they are always way overpriced. The location was fantasic as well, lots of restaurants and pubs etc nearby as well as many shopping centres. My friend works for MacDonalds and got us the room for £30 a night ... Read review

Herald - Not So Good
Review of Herald House, Edinburgh by blondgem

Advantages: Close to station and local amenities
Disadvantages: More like student accommodation

...web and came across the Herald House hotel, they did not have booking facilities on their own website so I gave them a call and luckily they had a double room for the three days over New Year. Bonus. Location Situated approximately 5 mins taxi drive from Haymarket Station. Taxi's are extremely well priced in Edinburgh especialy during that time of year, I thought it would cost a fortune but they are very competitive in comparison with taxi's from ...
...to local amenities and approximately 20 minutes walk to the town centre and Edinburgh Castle itself. There are plenty of places to eat nearby. Upon Arrival - Reception The reception was small with a few chairs and tourist information located in and around the area. The lasy on reception at that current time was extremely helpful in allocating us our rooms and we were happy with that. On New Years Eve and New Years Day, it was the manageress who ... Read review

Apex City Hotel
Review of Apex City, Edinburgh by blaaboy

Advantages: Location
Disadvantages: Business like feel - possible noise from nearby pubs.

The Apex city Hotel is the most central of the three Apex hotels in Edinburgh. Situated in the shadow of Edinburgh Castle and across from the lively Grassmarket. The Apex City is perhaps most suited to the business traveller. Upon arrival, the staff were friendly, if perhaps unattentive. Had requested a top floor room as noise can be an issue due to the prevalence of pubs across the road - instead was placed at the rear of the hotel. Very quite indeed, ... Read review
