The Edison Hotel, Is a clean basic hotel, that doesnt cost to much money and is in the centre of Times Square
The Hotel:
The Edison is located on west 47th street and Broadway and is literally steps from Times Square, Not even half a block! As you enter the lobby is is large and elegantly decorated. The checking in staff were lovely, polite and helpful. A bell boy carried our bags into the lift and showed us to our 7th floor room. We entered the the room which had 2 large double beds for two people, it had a chest of draws and a closet to put all our things there was plenty of space, although the rooms were not the largest Iv stayed in, in NYC they were not small. They were decorated old fashioned but the things were not actually old, there was no bad smell and everything was very clean. We opened our curtains and had a view of Times Square (if you tilt your head to the right!). The bathroom was adequit size with toilet, bidet, bath with a shower on the bath, again very clean The hotel has asmall gift shop with the usual I heart NY stuff and key rings etc, unlike some hotels they were reasonably priced. Tye hotel also has a diner attached which was lovely for breakfast, helpful staff and great food. Pancakes esspecialy nice! and was very cheap.
Location West 47th Street, on Broadway. The Beauty and the Beast theatre was actually attached to the hotel on the next street. Steps from Times Square. Around a 2 minute walk to the nearest subway station to go all over NYC. About 10 minute walk to Macys and Madison Square Garden and 15 minute walk to 5th ave and Empire state building. Cabs are cheap and easy to get from outside the hotel.
Overall.
We paid 700 pounds each (2people) for this trip in Feb 2005 with Thomsons. We flew with British Airways to JFK and stayed for 3 nights. I would reccomend this hotel to everyone including familes for its price and location.

Hi, it might be more useful if you also put things like the price of the accomodation on its own, the quality of the food served there and the variety in the menu and other things like that. let me know if you update this review and i'll re-rate it for you. Good luck! -Buff -x-
