Review of The Three Corners El Wekala Golf Resort, Taba

All-in Sofitel Taba Heights, great snorkelling and decent food

Advantages: All inclusive, snorkelling and diving, good rooms, private beach, great views over mountains
Disadvantages: Concretey, beach is pebbly and course, spread over a large area

We went to the Sofitel Taba Heights as a family get-together by the sea. It is a very concrete resort spread over an area of coastline, and has its own private beach, which is rather pebbly so I would recommend buying beach/swimming shoes. The sand also gets very hot in summer and is too hot to walk on without damaging your feet. The snorkelling is excellent. We swam off the Sofitel's jetty and were amazed when the first thing we saw was a blue spotted ...

Overall, I would recommend the Sofitel Taba Heights to anyone who likes snorkelling (although there are pools too) and diving (there's a nearby dive centre, called waterworld, which offers free transport to and from the hotels. Another day in taba heights

Advantages: Temperature, Swimming pool, gorgeous beach, cheap
Disadvantages: Food, constant badgering, flight and airline

...flew from Manchester direct to Taba International which is about 30-45mins away from the resort. The flight on the way out was at 1.55pm on a Monday, which is the only day and time you can fly out there. From Manchester there is only one tour operator who provide holidays to this particular part of Egypt called \'Peltours\', and the airline is \'Astreus\', a fairly new airline, and also a very small one. This particular airline have very small planes, ...
...When we arrived at Taba we were shown exactly where to go, the Egyptian tour operator was very helpful, but it was a mad rush at the airport, as it is very small, and the tour operators wanted you to buy a visa at the airport for those that wanted to go on trips to Cairo or to Israel. (They tell you that you have to buy these at the airport, it simply isnt true the Marriott can supply these if you need them, so need to queue for hours on end on arrival). ...

Windsurfing and diving in the Red Sea at Dahab

Advantages: Touch of luxury
Disadvantages: Busy hotel with lots of guests

...developed than Sharm, and although the shops and restaurants compete for your custom, they are less pushy than in the larger towns and cities. I liked eating out, by the sea with the warm summer wind and relaxed atmosphere. Next time I will stay at the Swiss Inn! ...

Hilton Dahab - good 5* hotel with nice beach and lagoon

Advantages: Luxurious, watersports, great lagoon, good food
Disadvantages: Extra food and drinks expensive, no snorkelling in lagoon

The Hilton Dahab is a fairly green hotel spread across the Dahab coastline. There is a nice golden sand beach, although it is too hot to walk on without shoes in summer, so I would recommend buying some beach/swimming shoes from the hotel shop. The lagoon in lovely for swimming and very walm, although there is little in terms of marine life. There is a dive centre (sinai divers) which can arrange diving and snorkelling trips and courses. ...could have a pizza or snack for lunch on the beach (expensive)! The breakfasts are hilton standards (fantastic) and the buffet dinners are also good. There is a games room with billiards and table tennis which you can hire. The rooms are in blocks, and are very comfortable, as you would expect from a 5* hotel. There may be an amount of walking to the beach, as the resort is quite large. Overall, I would recommend Hilton Dahab for watersports enthusiasts ...
