Given the cracking deal I got for two weeks staying at this hotel, I had my doubs about the kind of quality I could expect from this hotel. Review of Movenpick Resort, Taba

dissapointing summer holiday

Advantages: hot sunny weather, spotlessly clean
Disadvantages: food, entertainment, basic rooms/facilities

We've just come back from a week at this hotel, and I must say it was very disappointing. The rooms were very basic, although they were well cleaned, and in good condition (we were staying in the second block at the back, which I think is relatively new, so it should have been in good condition really). We were half board, and for the first couple of days the food on offer was just about ok, but then we realised there was nothing new on offer, and ...
...only warm, and the best food on offer was the salads. There is also a restaurant, which costs extra to eat in. We went twice, and it was empty apart from us both times. Unfortunately the second time we went, within hours we were ill, and spent the last full day of our holiday in our room unable to move! Hilton Dahab - good 5* hotel with nice beach and lagoon

Advantages: Luxurious, watersports, great lagoon, good food
Disadvantages: Extra food and drinks expensive, no snorkelling in lagoon

The Hilton Dahab is a fairly green hotel spread across the Dahab coastline. There is a nice golden sand beach, although it is too hot to walk on without shoes in summer, so I would recommend buying some beach/swimming shoes from the hotel shop. The lagoon in lovely for swimming and very walm, although there is little in terms of marine life. There is a dive centre (sinai divers) which can arrange diving and snorkelling trips and courses. ...could have a pizza or snack for lunch on the beach (expensive)! The breakfasts are hilton standards (fantastic) and the buffet dinners are also good. There is a games room with billiards and table tennis which you can hire. The rooms are in blocks, and are very comfortable, as you would expect from a 5* hotel. All-in Sofitel Taba Heights, great snorkelling and decent food

Advantages: All inclusive, snorkelling and diving, good rooms, private beach, great views over mountains
Disadvantages: Concretey, beach is pebbly and course, spread over a large area

We went to the Sofitel Taba Heights as a family get-together by the sea. It is a very concrete resort spread over an area of coastline, and has its own private beach, which is rather pebbly so I would recommend buying beach/swimming shoes. The sand also gets very hot in summer and is too hot to walk on without damaging your feet. The snorkelling is excellent. We swam off the Sofitel's jetty and were amazed when the first thing we saw was a blue spotted ...

Overall, I would recommend the Sofitel Taba Heights to anyone who likes snorkelling (although there are pools too) and diving (there's a nearby dive centre, called waterworld, which offers free transport to and from the hotels. THE MOST RETURN VISITED HOTEL IN THE HILTON GROUP

...Out of all the hilton hotels in the world,Coral hilton @ Nuweiba is the one that has the most returns to! Its 1/2 way between Taba/Sharm on the Aqaba cost. Overlooking a private beach on the red sea. The hotel is 4* AI with recently refurbished rooms. With the Sinai mountains behind you, and looking at the mountains of Saudi across the red sea, its a wonderful & beautiful location to wake up in with wonderful sunrises & sunsets.
