The location of two minutes walk to the Eiffel Tower couldn't be more perfect for a romantic break away. The building work was due to be completed in December 2005, and if the rest of the hotel matches the quality of the rooms then it's definitely worth a visit. If we visit Paris again I wouldn't hesitate to stay in this hotel.
My partner and I visited the Eiffel Seine hotel, Paris, in November 2005, and we were very pleasantly surprised by what we found.
After scouring the internet for a reasonably priced long weekend away, we finally booked Paris through Thomson Cities, travelling on Eurostar, staying at this 3* hotel at the foot of the Eiffel Tower. The cost quoted on the website was £135 per person for three days including travel, which we thought was very reasonable, although when booking the break a £35 per person Eurostar supplement was added, bringing the total cost to £170pp. I thought it was quite misleading that this supplement wasn't mentioned before going through the booking process.
On booking we couldn't find a huge amount of information on the hotel, so we left feeling slightly apprehensive about what we might find.
On arriving in Paris we quickly located the hotel, which is situated in the most perfect part of the city for those wanting to do some sightseeing and have one of the world's most famous landmarks on their doorstep. The hotel is directly opposite the metro station Bir Hakeim, which offers easy access to the city. But walking into the hotel my worries returned when we realised that the main restaurant was still a building site, and the reception wasn't far off. But we shouldn't have been concerned...
We were shown to our room which was gorgeous, a medium sized double, decorated in a very contemporary style with a lovely, big, comfortable double bed, plasma tv on the wall, built-in wardrobe, chest of drawers, full length mirror and free safe. The attached bathroom was great, very modern with an excellent bath & overhead shower, and very nice bath products. I would go so far as to say the hotel has been refurbished to almost 4* standard. The only minor gripe about the room was the price of the minibar, which was pretty high but to be expected in a hotel.
The hotel is set over about 5 floors, and looks like an old townhouse from the outside, I'm not sure of exactly how many rooms there were, but I believe there are around 8 on each floor.
The hotel doesn't have many facilities and there isn't a restaurant, but being in such close proximity to all the main areas this wasn't an issue. Breakfast is served between 7am and 10am in the basement dining room, which I believe is also being renovated, but at the time of our visit was decorated in a quaint French style, and served a great continental breakfast including croissants, yogurts, fresh juice and anything else you might expect! The staff were lovely, very helpful and polite and willing to do anything they could to make our stay even more pleasant.
I would highly reccomend a stay at the Eiffel Seine. The location of two minutes walk to the Eiffel Tower couldn't be more perfect for a romantic break away. The building work was due to be completed in December 2005, and if the rest of the hotel matches the quality of the rooms then it's definitely worth a visit.
