Eilat, is the glamourous holiday resort in Israel, situated next to the the desert, (similar to Las Vegas in that way)It is also next to the sea. Being Jewish, and with half my family living in Israel, I go to Jerusalem a lot, but i much prefer Eilat. Israel has a reputation, for having many orthodox jews and synagogues all over the place, but Eilat is quite the opposite. It attracts 90 thousand tourists a year, but not all are Jewish. This is for many reasons.

A key factor of Eilats popularity, is that even in winter, the temperature rarely drops below 25 degrees, and is almost always sunny. In the summer, the temp, rarely drops below 35 degrees! Secondly, there are many hotels, all incredibly fancy, reasuringly expensive, and luxurious, ranging from 3 to 5 stars. There has been a lot of competetion to make the best hotels in Eilat over the last decade or so, which is why all are made to look, and be as good as possible. My personal favourite hotel in this resort is the "Royal beach" hotel, with its own beach, watersports swimming pools, top notch restaurants, and luxury rooms.

Eilat is also known for its wonderful range of water sports. From Jet skiing, and water skiing, to banana boating and paragliding, Eilat has it all, for a reasonable price. Snorkeling is also a fun little occupant, and Eilat has many corals with countless species of tropical fish. But, the feature of Eilat, not to be missed, is the swimming with dolphins. This fantastic experience costs about the equivalant of about £30, but it's worth it. You are dressed in swim suits, and snorkels, possibly scba diving suits depending on your request. Youn then go out into the dolphin area. The guides do tell you not to touch the squeaking animals unless they come to you, but you usually get to stroke their silky skin, and will surely be the highlight of your holiday! When i went, while i was snorkeling elsewhere, the dolphins were let free for a while, and they came to my snorkeling area, so i got to swim with them for free!

Another, more extreme experience of Eilat, is its airodium. This is basically a skydiving simulation, where you are put into a skydiving suit, and a huge fan of air sends you hovering up to 10 feet airborne, - if you're good, up to 30 feet if you're an expert! If you do a full course, you can also do an actual skydive in eilat, which i imagine, would be a thoroughly thrilling experience!

Another of Eilats fame, lies in its nightlife. There is the fun fair , open everynight, and countless superb restaurants. For over 18's, there are many, many, popular nightclubs and parties, but are apparently very strict with ID checks.

So, if you're considering a luxuriously hot, action packed holiday, this may be the option for you!

Ciao!
