He was the grandmaster of the house. Eimer translated into english means bucket. This title represents the fact that the police could have at any moment storm the punk infested building. There is a story that some guys, playing a joke, flashed the TV tower with a high powered beam for a week changing colors each day. The cops located the beam and planned a raid to evict the inhabitors. The only problem for the police was the fact that Eimer was tipped off in advance, and packed as many punks into the building as possible. When the cops came in the wave of streetfighters stormed down the stairs, reclaiming the possesstion of eimer. The club is made up of two dance floors, down stairs is the dungeon, with all diffrent kinds of musical variation.Jazz, punk, rap, funk, blues with a very relaxed atmosphere. Upstairs is another dance floor and another bar. The art work on all the walls is created by a tattoo artist residing in the household. There is also a recording studio, and a drum and bass lable. When in berlin it's worth the effort to visit eimer, and if you're thirsty, outside and want to go listen to a little house in a mellow invironment at Delicious Doughnuts. Have fun!
Advantages: Eimer is 'the' underground club in Berlin & there are nights of dancing to Daddy Hemingway & his Blackriders Orchestra. They are afraid of Squat People, the drivers. If you're a girl, take some mace with you. You might need it.
People were swirling around outside the 4 story house and from inside came the muffled sound of rock & roll. It was almost 1am Saturday morning.
I paid my money and went in past three door persons, one of whom body-searched me just to see if I was carrying anything, "A gun or a knife," he laughed. Then the young Kurdish doorperson took the cover off a cardboard box and showed the contents to me. Inside were two handguns, 4 knives and a mace. He ... ...polite German: "Full House tonight. We check everybody. Orders from the Kulturburo upstairs." Downstairs level, a dj was playing loud Elvis Presley to a jampacked cellar prior to the first band coming on at 1am. Upstairs in the café a dj was playing drum & bass, and 30 to 40 people were dancing in the small space. If you went into the back room of the café you would be in the kino where a Russian dj was playing an eclectic mix of musi and showing ...
