El Greco Resort, Montego Bay

Advantages: Sandals in genuinely "All Inclusive", and oozes quality
Disadvantages: Jamaica seems festooned with hustlers

...I went to Sandals Montego Bay for 2 weeks in August 1997 for my honeymoon. It seemed pricey at first glance (it was about 3400 ukp for us both) but this turned out to be pretty good value for money. The food was excellent, there were at least 5 restaurants to choose from including a Chinese, an Italian and an A La Carte, all at least four courses. You could also pop along to Sandals Royal Jamaican or Sandals Inn for a change. Sandals Royal Jamaican has an excellent Indonesian restaurant you have to get to in a "traditional" Balinese boat, but it's well worth the effort. All of the staff did their best to give you a good holiday and the activities were enjoyable, though you weren't forced to join in. Advantages: Very close to beach, shops & bars.
Disadvantages: Could'nt keep the room on the day we were leaving (had a night flight)

...Myself and family stayed at the El Greco apartments in October 2007. I was pleased to find that we had a sea view, the apartments were directly opposite the beach. The rooms were clean and satisfactory, although the decor was in need of updating. The rooms were cleaned everyday and fresh towels left. The staff were very friendly. There were two lifts, (when getting out of the lift there was around five steps to walk down so could be tricky for anyone with a pushchair or wheelchair). The pool was very nice with a snack bar serving good food at cheap prices. The childrens pool was closed due to work being done. There was a resturant but we didnt eat there. There were lots of bars to choose from. The commercial centre was around a 10 minute walk away with lots of cheap places to eat & lots of shops. We found Puerto Rico to be a great... Read review

Advantages: clean, spacious, tidy
Disadvantages: slow service, poor air conditioning

...I went to Jamaica in August 2004, flying from Manchester to Montego Bay via MyTravel airlines. Although it was my first time travelling to the country, my dad who flew with me has been several times before however he usually flies directly to Kingston. After a 9 hour flight, I was pleasantly supprised to arrive at such a clean and tidy airport. It appeared that clean and tidy...that it actually seemed rather empty, but at least it looked nice. Despite the hot mid-august temperatures, the airports air conditioning wasn't up to much. Infact the air conditioning consisted of a few low power fans placed in the corner of arrivals! This definately wasn't one of the best things about the airport! The next downfall came when we tried to get through check in. This was amazingly slow!
