El Macho ranks highly as regards authenticity and considering the

eat well here for around 20 pounds. It is open from 10.00 am to 5 pm

For the quality of the food on offer,it is also reasonably priced. It is a lively spot and gets very busy so it is probably wise to book a table.I have been told that Sir Paul McCartney, when he is in town ,likes to visit this little corner of Mexico but he wasnt there when I was.
They have a good range of Mexican starters with the likes of nachos, chillis, beans and dips while among the entrees are seafood dishes and their famous Mexican Skillet which comprises charcoal grilled meats such as chicken and steak, peppers, onions etc. There are a wide range of wines and on a hot summer's evening you might want to order an ice-cold beer or a frozen margarita.

El Macho is situated in Hope Street a few hundred yards from the Everyman. The restaurant has a couple of different levels and a slightly confusing layout but it all adds to the character and it has plenty. Probably the best feature is the deliberate patches of missing plaster exposing the brickwork. The selection of food on offer isn't huge but there is enough to leave you wondering what to have. A starter worthy of particular mention is Paulos ... ...cheese and sour cream.
There's a pretty good selection of drinks including South American red wines and Mexican beer. Also included in Sangria which can be bought by the glass or by the jug.
If you like Mexican, you'll love this place. Definitely the best Mexican in Liverpool. ...

* Elmacho Mexican Bar & Grill - Mexican restaurant located on Hope Street. Ģ10 for 2 course meal - good value.
* Marquee Lounge Bar and Eating Rooms - Popular restaurant covering 2 floors on Victoria Street, specialising in Mediterranean and Lebanese food. Well priced and currently increasing in popularity.
* May Sum Buffet King Restaurant - Chinese buffet restaurant located next to the Holiday Inn and opposite Lime Street train station. My youngest brother swears that the food is excellent .. I've never been in because the high number of covers and turn over suggested to me that the quality wouldn't be all that good, but our kid does reliably inform me it is full value ...
