WARNING! Please read if you are intending to stay at H10 Playa Meloneras Palace, GrandCanary. We booked a week break to stay at what we thought was a 5 star hotel arriving late on Saturday night we went straight to our room which looked very nice and was well placed in the hotel 5th floor and overlooking the pool. When we woke up the next morning we noticed that we were infested with tiny spider like ants all around the room, we went to the welcome meeting and informed the Holiday rep and Hotel reception they agreed to fumigate the room whilst we were out, we found a load of these dead spider/ants when we returned so we thought this would be the last of the matter. be booked over the hotel groups website, by calling a central reservations number, by calling the hotel directly and most likely through your locale travel agents alothough i wouldn't recommend this as it will work out much more expensive that contacting the hotel directly.
I would definatly recommend a visit to this hotel especially for a special occassion, the staff are always friendly, helpful and willing to go the extra mile, for example several times they've made food for me not on the menu just because i enquired as to whether they did do it or not. Also if you have an american express card you can often get deals on buy one get one night free in de vere hotels, and sometimes a free upgrade (the reason i got junior suites both time!) ...
Advantages: Very close to beach, shops & bars. Disadvantages: Could'nt keep the room on the day we were leaving (had a night flight)
Myself and family stayed at the El Greco apartments in October 2007. I was pleased to find that we had a sea view, the apartments were directly opposite the beach. The rooms were clean and satisfactory, although the decor was in need of updating. The rooms were cleaned everyday and fresh towels left. The staff were very friendly. There were two lifts, (when getting out of the lift there was around five steps to walk down so could be tricky for anyone with a pushchair or wheelchair). The pool was very nice with a snack bar serving good food at cheap prices. The childrens pool was closed due to work being done. There was a resturant but we didnt eat there. There were lots of bars to choose from. The commercial centre was around a 10 minute walk away with lots of cheap places to eat & lots of shops. We found Puerto Rico to be a great ...
