...I visited the Sol El Mouradi in April 2005. My first holiday with my partner, I was really looking forward to it and it did not disappoint!

Marble, impressive double staircases, chrome mirrored lifts, plush seating and plants all around, I wondered if we'd really got the right hotel! Costing around £330 per person for 10 days in April, I didn't expect it to live up to its 4* status, but it really did! All my life I had dreamed of going to Egypt, mainly Cairo to see the Pyramids, as I had always wanted to become an archaeologist. I collected souveneirs from Museums and shops relating to Ancient Egypt, an amazing period in the worlds history filled with grand designs, architecture and beliefs. I collected a childrens magazine on Ancient Egypt and read up about the era in books both at home and at school. I was fascinated by everything I read and was determined from then on to visit the Great Pyramids at Giza, one seventh of the wonders of the Ancient World...
