We have stayed at the hotel 3 times our last visit was June 2006. We will be returning sometime in the near future.
Hotel: The hotel is based on a Mexico theme. If you have children pick this hotel as they have plenty to keep them entertained all day.
Price: As a family of 4 through first choice the June 2006 cost us £1300 this is for halfboard and includes the admission to the parks and water park.
Room: All rooms are very spacious and really clean, the rooms have air conditioning,Satellite TV,Hair-dryer,Direct dial telephone,Safe (You need to visit reception to activate this). Rooms are cleaned everyday, if you don't want
this just put the card provided outside the door. Our room looked over the pool and i feel this was a lovely area to be. Just a warning about the vending machines in hall, we found the snacks machines hardly worked at all but found some on other floors. Also you can dine out in the Park restaurants with your MenuPlus voucher, you can get these from reception and replaces your evening meal. You can use these in the park or portaventuras other hotels.
Food - Well what can i say about the food, its to die for. My children are quite fussy but they never complained once, their is so much to choose from you will want to try everything:) The Puddings went down really well with everyone, i think if we let our children they would have been up about 20 times or more. Just a warning, drinks do not come free in the evening, even if you are halfboard you have to pay for these. For breakfast teas, coffee, milk and juice are free.
The hotel also has several other restaurants, snack bars etc. every day or so the characters come for breakfast, the hotel provides more details. We saw betty boop, woody and the pink panther at breakfast.
Shows: The hotel provided evening entertainment everynight for the children, plus enjoyable for the adults as bar close by. These are staged on the open air theate. My children made lots of friends at these shows as the children all sat together, my daughter now write to one of the children she met. Shows we saw on our visit included a Circus double act, Magic show, Cinderalla panto. Plus the children had a mini disco every evening and characters visted on occasions to join in the fun.
Staff- All staff was friendly and made us feel welcome, they also spoke very good english which was an extra bonus. If we needed anything our request was met very quickly. I needed extra pillows and we had them in a room within 10 minutes.
Swimming pool- This is the best hotel swimming pool i have ever seen, we have lovely ship in the childrens pool, beware of the cannons. The childrens pool is very safe with a lifeguard, most children can freely walk around with no problems at all. Our children spent ages in the pool. The Pool bingo is fun were they throw lots of bingo balls in and the children have to find the numbers. The swimming pool also has a pool side bar which sells a selection of drinks and snacks. You will find plenty of sun loungers by the pool, ideal spot next to the childrens pool as you can keep an eye on the children all the time. there is also a waitress service, so you don't need to leave your sun loungers at all.
Theme Park and water Park - These two parks are only a short 5 minute walk.
Salou- This is only a short walk but the hotel provides a free bus that takes you to and from the beachs. Also their is a road train you can use for 8 euros to salou, this is a great ride if you want to see abit of the area.
Some other info: your purchases in the park can be delivered to your hotel.
You can use all the facialities at the other two hotels Hotel PortAventura and the beach club.
Your room key is also your ticket for the park so keep it safe, you can also have your card charged so you can use it in the park like a creditcard.
Internet Cafe: In the main building you will find the interent cafe (Cost 1 euro for 10 minutes), the best time to go is in the day time as in the evening its packed with teenagers oh and my son.
We have always come home from this hotel feeling relaxed and happy. We have told several friends about this hotel and they have been to the hotel too and loved it as much as we have.

A good start but a little more information is needed to gain the higher ratings. Have a read of some of the reviews on Ciao in similar categories to get an idea of what information others include.
