THINGS YOU WILL NEED TO HIRE A CAR
----------------------------------------------------------
You will usually have to be over 21 years old to hire a car on the Canary Islands. Some companies will expect you top have a clean license. My partner was lucky enough to have a clean license so we didn't get to find out if Cabrera Medina required clean licenses. You will need your full license and passport.
CABRERA MEDINA
---------------------------
Cabrera Medina is a hire car company based on the Canary Islands. The company was founded in 1967 by Mamerto Cabrera Medina on the Island of Lanzarote. The company started out with only six cars and was designed to cater for the developing tourist industry on the island. The Cabrera Medina logo (see photo 1) was designed by the famous artist Cesar Manrique.

Advantages: Clean, Right on the Beach Disadvantages: Need transport to get to Sousse or Port El Kantoei
...on the guided trip into sousse which is advertised by the hotel and run from the shop. This trip is free and is advertised in a way that makes you assume it is an officially orgainised trip - they say it stops you being hassled in the Medina (large market like place - please read reviews of Sousse iteslf ) but in reality they take you to the owners shop in the medina and really pressure you to buy very expensive carpets. It is quite intimidating and I would not reccommend it. Luckily we are not easily pressured so escaped relatively well (bought a couple of small items) but I heard of a few people being pressured into spending up to £200 so please beware.
FOOD AND DRINK

Advantages: Small, clean and welcomining. Good for low buget travellers. Disadvantages: Very few day time activities. No beach front location.
...restaurants around the hotel. Note that you can expect to pay UK prices for alcohol as Tunisia is a Muslim country.
As for the location, the hotel lacked the views of a beach front complex although within 4mins you can be on the sand. The beach is fantastic with soft sand and warm sea. There is lots to do outside the hotel, it is worth taking a trip to Hammamet Yasmin which is more modern with a great water park. You can get a taxi there for around £2.50. There are plenty of traders around the hotel, but bare in mind they will rip you off if you don't barter. For the best shopping take a trip to the old Medina in Hammamet about 40min walk from hotel. You can walk all of the way along the beach which is a lovely walk, but make sure you take plenty of water! The Medina can be intimidating as every trader wants to make a sale. A good tip...

My impressions of this game when I saw it advertised on the internet was that it looked like a completely different type of game that I'm used to seeing for the DS.
