Singapore - the Hotel 81 chain

Advantages: Cheap, clean and safe
Disadvantages: Not for the faint-hearted if you don't like the real world

with toothbrush and paste etc in it. It was spotlessly clean and quiet (I had asked for a quiet room which was unusual as we shall see later. ) It also had asmall UK Channel colour TV and Internet connection which I successfully used. "Hotel 81" have a chain of low-budget hotels throughout the State of Singapore, all pretty much the same, I stepped into the foyers of a couple more and they use the same formula. Anyone checking hotel81.com.sg on line will find 15 hotels to choose from and 10 more offline. Now for the exciting bit as far as I was concerned. I hadn't really got a clue what to expect when I left the airport in a taxi. The ride cost me $16 Singapore and, not having seen Singapore since 1968, I was of course enthralled and amazed by what had been achieved under two wise Presidencies. Now for me personally, I can wallow in ...

Review of Hotel 81 - Gold, Singapore

Delighting guests every single day. Mandarin Oriental Singapore.

Advantages: Great location. Excellent service that isn't too Singaporean! New rooms with excellent features!
Disadvantages: You will pay for the pleasure!

For those who have been keeping up with my Mandarin Oriental exploits then this is the third installment. Today I shall review one of Singapore?s finest five star hotels and let you into the world of Mandarin Oriental Singapore. I have stayed at a variety of hotels in Singapore but none have come as close to the perfect stay that you get at MO. I last stayed here in 2007 when the hotel was just branded as The Oriental, however Mandarin Oriental have since renamed the property under their full brand, just to make you aware in case you read reviews on either of the properties, they are in fact the same. Just look for the ?fan? logo of the company. I was staying in Singapore in between a trip from Malaysia to Australia and given my love for MO I knew this would be a good choice. Suffice to say I was not disappointed. Booking I booked ...

Review of Oriental Hotel, Singapore

The Felbridge Hotel & Spa Hotel

Advantages: Stunning decor, exceptional food, polite, friendly staff
Disadvantages: None

Situated in East Grinstead, West Sussex this hotel is counted as a Gatwick Airport Hotel. Compared to all the other Gatwick hotels and all other hotels I have stayed in, this has to be one of the best. The hotel has recently been taken over in the last year and gone through a 5 million pound refurbishment taking the hotel and spa to 4* Deluxe Status from its previous 2* rating. I did not visit the hotel when it was previously owned so cannot compare. I drive past this hotel every day and it always catches my eye, it looks really nice. I first went into the hotel to take a look at the spa. When I went in the whole hotel was spotless, the staff on reception were very polite and helpful and directed me to spa. ~~~~~~~~~ Reception ~~~~~~~~~ This is the first thing you see when you walk through the revolving doors into ...
