Elmhurst Hotel, Reading

I had a really bad experience in this 'hotel'. We arrived to an unfriendly reception and were told we had to pay the full amount in advance to get our key, then went to the room which hadn't been touched since the last guest had left. The room was filthy, especially the floor and headboard. The toilets outside the room were also very dirty. We decided to leave when we found that the nearest fire exit was padlocked shut! Luckily we found another room in town for a similar price but much higher standards. less
