Elounda Peninsula All Suite Hotel, Elounda

Advantages: Fantastic menu, a View to Swoon Over and Dishes to Die For....
Disadvantages: You'll be Spoilt for Choice!

Getting up at 7am we had plenty of time to have a wander and explore the menu's of the many taverna's based around Elounda's beautiful harbour and causeway, I could ummm and ahhh at the dishes on offer without the owner leaping on me and offering me a table. So the Ergospasio caught my attention firstly because it is positioned next to a 'delightful' establishment complete with magical light shows, water fountains dancing in the sea and mannequins wearing - well let's just say rather dodgy outfits, how on earth could Ergospasio compare!?... easy, it had a set of six simple tables positioned outside, an octopus drying in the sun and a menu I could relate to, bulging with Mezedes... no * (*which indicates which dishes are frozen on a Greek menu - (god help all my local establishments if this is introduced in the UK)). Advantages: Secluded location, Sea-front, Great variety of accommodation, Lots of Activities.
Disadvantages: 2 1/2 hour transfer from Herakolin Airport

...Set in a secluded, sea-front location, Elounda Bay Palace Hotel is a well maintained, friendly and cooperative environment to stay in for a fortnight. I was pleasantly surprised by the outcome of this hotel as it sounded so unbelievable in the brochure that I thought it was to good to be true. However, I was proven wrong, happily! The Hotel is set in twenty acres of very well maintained gardens that are impeccable. It also has some of the best accommodation and the greatest variety I have stayed in ever before. LOCATION The location of this hotel can not be beaten. It is secluded, sea-front and set in twenty acres of some of the best kept gardens in the hotel market! Advantages: Economic accomodation
Disadvantages: Very basic

...The Elounda Gulf, is a very basic accommodation offering. It sits just to the East of Elounda itself (approximately 10 minutes walk) and overlooks the bay and a variety of Hotels. The complex is a series of Chalet style accommodation, each suite sits slightly higher that the last carved into a slow rising hill. On the two main occasions I have stayed here I have spent my time at the top tier of the complex. All the suites are identical, none better internally than the other. The bonus for us was of course that we got the better view. The only downside was that the best views that could be had were on the other side of the complex, and no rooms have windows facing out in this direction for some unknown reason. Each suite has a outdoor eating area which consists of table and chairs, as well as some concrete seating that surrounds... Read review
