Advantages: Breathtakingly beautiful. Disadvantages: The road is not one for the feint of heart
and explore their wonderful gardens. I have never seen anywhere that compares to the beauty of the Amalficoast. It is like a little secret that is hidden away with its the only accessible route a nerve jangling one that travels high in the cliffs that plunge 3,000 feet into the crystalline sea below.
Between Positano and Amalfi is the Grotta dello Smeraldo, we took a detour to Amalfi to take a boat tour to see the cave, unfortunatly we had not long returned from seeing the Blue Grotto on Capri, so it was not quite as impressive to us as to some of the other passengers but the blue light that shines through from an underwater opening is pretty After the Grotta dello Smeraldo, the coast road goes around the Capo di Conca and the bay of Amalfi is displayed in all it's glory - a sight not to be missed.

Advantages: Spectacular coastline, with attractive towns and good walking Disadvantages: A tourist trap, albeit a superior one
patterned light and dark grey stone, is as recent as 19th century. Constricted in its valley and with just one main street descending to the town centre and the sea, Amalfi nowadays seems above all bustling and touristy. At Bomerano Inntravel have found another good hotel, the Due Torri ...
Advantages: good variety of dishes Disadvantages: waiting time
Food
Mamma Amalfi is an Italian themed restaurant, similar to the likes of Bella Pasta. It is an ideal place to have a meal with a group of people as there is so much variety in the menu there is bound to be something to please everyone.
There is a good range of seafood, vegetarian and meat dishes, which is great as I can take my non meat eating friends there without feeling guilty that they have only one option on the menu.
There are also quite a few dishes that are not either pizza or pasta so even those who dont particularly fancy an Italian should find something they like.
I am not an expert on Italian Cuisine and have no idea whether this is at all like authentic Italian food but I really enjoy the rich and flavourful sauces of their pasta dishes, and have had some of my best pasta dishes there.
