I had heard a lot about Emirates Airlines - and it always had been positive. So when I wanted to book a flight to Bangkok for me and my boyfriend and a flight over Dubai with this airline was one of the options, I knew what to choose. ...And my expectations were more than fulfilled.
The first positive impression was the staff. They were just so friendly and helpful. Being used to flying with Bitish Airways I nearly could not believe it. They would constantly make sure that all the passengers were comfortable, without ever being intrusive. They furthermore catered for any extra wishes and needs. One of this was shown when we were seated right beside a very annoying passenger (he used up half the space of my seat). The stewardess did everything possible and even persuaded somebody else to move, so that we were able to move somewhere else - and still sit together.
The service in general is very good, as even economy class passengers have the little comforts of hot towels, footrests, free headphones and even individual screens with radio, tv/video channels (showing some of the newest movies). This also features an interactive channel with games that will keep the kids (or some of the adults) entertained for hours. You can even make a phonecall from your seat (the remote control also acts as a phone) - granted it is very expensive, but what do you expect?!
The food was quite nice and all drinks including most alcoholic beverages (except champagne) are free.
I can thouroughly recommend flying with Emirates airlines and would always choose them again. After all the flight to Bangkok and back was too long for my taste (6 hours + 7 hours, the last leg on the way back even took 8 hours) but the staff still managed to make this an enjoyable experience.
