Advantages: the weather, the people, the area, virtually everything in fact Disadvantages: the beach sellers, the cockroaches, the long flight time from the UK, and a small earthquake.
Firstly my general rule of thumb about going on holiday is, when choosing a destination it must be somewhere I have not been before, but Acapulco is somewhere I would return to in a heartbeat.
It has to be one of the best holidays I have had in a long time.
Why? I hear you ask.
We booked about 6 weeks before we went so not exactly last minute, but not ages in advance and paid around £750 each for all inclusive 4 star hotel for two weeks. All the hotels are arranged around the bay along a long road called La Costera, and many are actually on the beach.
The hotel was fabulous, on the beach and the staff were great, you didnt even have to get out of your sunlounger to go to the bar, the waiters came down on to the beach and delivered your drinks to you dripping with ice. Well you need to keep cool in 47C heat.

Chocolate Heaven Since 1911
Thorntons is a chocolate company established by Joseph William Thornton in 1911 in Britain. The year of establishment has been used in one of their famous marketing campaigns, "Chocolate heaven since 1911." According to an article I read Thorntons now has nearly 400 shops and cafes and a turnover over £180m.
Thorntons Continental chocolates are their most popular assortment of chocolates. Apparently, sales of this range and Thorntons Special Toffee account for almost £80 million of Thornton's sales. It's easy to see why as in my opinion the chocolate are a great quality product with an even better taste.
What I like about a box of Continental is that they are quite a posh box of chocolates. They make a great present as they are a bit nicer in my opinion than say a box of Roses or Quality Street ...
providing my transportation back and forth for my most recent trip to Scotland, Continental Airlines managed to align itself more squarely with the latter than the former.
◄◄◄Choosing Continental ►►►
Despite my thrifty approach, I consider more than just price when I select a transatlantic flight. In choosing Continental, I considered the itinerary. As published, the itinerary provided two modest layovers in Newark, New Jersey, one each way, for a total one-way travel time of about 8 hours, start to finish. These days, a bargain fare often includes very long layovers, and I had the option of choosing cheaper flights with 10-12 hour layovers in London or Amsterdam. Ten hours in an airport is a long time--a long, numbing time--and not an experience to be freely chosen.
I considered available seating. I ...
