Enniskillen is the main town of County Fermanagh - in the west of Northern Ireland. Beautifully located on the shores of Lough Erne - Fermanagh's most famous feature.

Built around a island, Enniskillen has become a very prosperous town in recent years and offers all visitors with a wide selection of things to do.

The town boasts an amazing history, some of which is dated back to the plantation of Ireland in the 1600's. The famous Enniskillen castle and watergate is linked to this time period.

Along with the castle and Watergate, Enniskillen has lots of other historical features such as the County Museum and Regimental Museum, Townhall, St. Michael's Catherdral, St. Macartin's Catherdral, Coles Monument, Forthill Park, The Convent, along with other features which date back to early years - the hospital is built on the site of the workhouse.

Enniskillen also boasts a good range of shops and has many big name shops located in it. The lcoal shopping centre Erneside is home to many of them - in Erneside you will find branches of Next, New Look, H. Samuel, Etam, Millets, Lifestyle Sports, Safeways, to mention a few.

The town centre is full of local businesses - everything from local craft shops to hardware stores that have been in the town for many years.

The Buttermarket complex offers you with the chance to buy local produced crafts and to see exactly how the products are produced - you get a chance to watch the craftmen at work in their workshops.

Enniskillen offers numerous location to eat in - ranging from local pub grub right to fast food joints. There is a super range of local bars which are super to eat out in or have a pint in.

This is a very nice and clean town with very pleasant local folk all around you.

Enniskillen, whilst it may be, in it's own way, a very beauitful County, Only shows half of the amazing sites that Northern Ireland has to offer visitors. Some of the more facinating sites that Northern Ireland has to offer are Belfast Castle, situated in the heart of the CaveHill National Park in central Belfast. The Giants Causway, Portrush. And the Ulster Folk and Transport Museum, on the way into Belfast. Whilst Enniskillen may me a nice place. Northern Ireland has alot more to offer people than it's breath-taking coastline.
