Mesmering Marrakech

Advantages: Stunning scenery!
Disadvantages: food, a bit of a culture shock

eating there appeared to be locals. The Souqs This is the main shopping area in Marrakech, selling a variety of wares including clothes, furnishings, dried fruit, spices and pastries. I found it quite overwhelming at first as shop keepers compete against each other for your attention, so you are not free to browse. The market is huge and it is very easy to lose track of where you are as there are many passage ways coming off each other! Other places of interest in the old town are the Saadian Tombs and the Royal palaces and the Menara Gardens. Day Excursions not to be missed: There are several tour companies located just off the Djemaa el Fna who organise tours to the atlas mountains, the Cascade d'Ouzoud waterfalls and overnight stays in the Desert. We organised our tours when we got there with a company called Sahara Tours ...

Not King minos's palace but a nice family resort - Camari Gardens

Advantages: Reasonably priced, clean, accom, two pools, free sunbeds, free internet
Disadvantages: A bit quiet for tennagers and certainly not clubs and bars bearby if you like that

WHERE IS THIS PLACE? Camari Gardens hotel apartments are situated in Gerani, near Rethymnon in Crete. This is a smallish family run resort with just 65 apartments and studios with 2 pools, a small playground, restaurant, reception/meeting area with book exchange library and a few electronic games and computers, a laundry, a small supermarket set in pleasant gardens overlooking the sea. http://www.camarigarden.com/main.aspx?lanid=English&pageid=Home OUR STORY: We booked this 2 week holiday through Thomas Cook holidays but prior to booking I read a lot of reviews on Tripadvisor. There were no really unfavourable comments about this resort and the vast majority were really positive so I chose this place on that basis. The holiday was a package including flights from East Midlands and transfers from Heraklion to the resort. In this ...

48 hours in Marrakech (Morroco)

Advantages: Beautiful climate, friendly + helpful locals, respectful people, great shopping, out of this world! :)
Disadvantages: hassel to buy, quite dusty (not great when you've got a cold)

Only a 3 and a half hour flight from the hustle and bustle of London to the vibrant, colourful and unique city of Marrakech. As we flew over the city, it looked liked a patch work quilt of green and caramel brown. In some places there is a lot of lush green areas but the majority of the city is dry with a dusty caramel covering the roads and streets. Marrakech is a city in Morocco, North Africa. The two main languages spoken in Marrakech are French and Arabic. 98% of the population are Muslim with the other 2% being mainly Christian. Many Europeans do live in Marrakech and many having holiday homes there. The currency conversion rate is: 1 United Kingdom Pounds (GBP) = 15.84 Morocco Durham's (MAD) The most expenses spent are usually in the UK to and from the airport. I recommend that you book online if you want to park ...
