First Term At Malory Towers : Give this to your little girls!

Advantages: Very readable, enjoyable, imaginative, contains some sensible & good philosophies
Disadvantages: The modern versions of the books are altered to make them politically correct

The set of Malory Towers books was written by Enid Blyton during the post-WW2 part of the 1940s?.I think the final one may have spilled over into 1950. They tell the story of pupil Darrel Rivers? time at the school, from her very first day as a 13-year-old, through to her last, when she leaves at age 18. I read my first Enid Blyton Malory Towers book when I was aged about 9. We?d had a bring & buy sale at my primary school as an end of term activity, and I managed to cop a paperback edition of the 3rd book in the series for the grand sum of one old halfpenny! Later in the evening when at home and in bed (I was supposed to be asleep), I began to read Third Year At Malory Towers, and just couldn?t put the book down ? I read it from cover to cover that night, in secret by torchlight under the blankets, and the next day my mother ...

If I Was Rich, I'd Live here Full Time!

Advantages: Lovely Hotel, Brilliant Staff and Excellent Location
Disadvantages: Not on a Backpacker's Budget

I visited the Esplanade Hotel, Fremantle, WA in June 2006 to run a conference for work, which really is the only way I would have been able to stay there, as it is a little out of my price range (although most places are!). Certainly though, the price does reflect the quality of the hotel as the standards of customer care, both to business guests and tourists is absolutely excellent. The hotel has a long history, with a building in various forms (customs house etc) being on the current site since 1896. Through the years it has expanded, most notably for the 1987 Americas Cup defence, and now comprises 300 bedrooms and excellent conference/event facilities. In terms of being a business guest, my colleagues and I found the conference accommodations to be well furnished and with full support from a staff for whom nothing is any ...

Review of Esplanade Hotel, Fremantle

Great 5* Berlin Hotel

Advantages: Great value for 5* hotel, very modern, clean
Disadvantages: Air-con was broken down..

Just came back from our long weekend (2nd May Bank Holiday, 26May-28May) with 4 other friends. We went to Berlin with Easyjet; it was about £120 per person (a little pricey due to peak period) and the flight time is a little inconvenience because it departed at 6.30am, and check-in time is from 4.30am so we took the last train from London Bridge to Luton airport (about 1hour). We got there by 1.30am and slept on the benches for few hours. There are three airports in Berlin, which are Schoenefled, Tegel and Tempelhof. We went to Berlin Schoenefled with Easyjet and this is the furthest airport from town centre and to the hotel (Grand Hotel Esplanade), it took us about 1 hour. The closest airport is Berlin Tempelhof it would be about 20 minutes from town and 30minutes from Berlin Tegel Airport to town. Grand Hotel Esplanade is a 5 ...
