Hostel Alur - a tempting option
Advantages: Good value, great location, clean modern rooms Disadvantages: Cluttered kitchen and iffy fridges
Old Town Hostel Alur is situated as the name suggests in Vana Tallinn - Old Tallinn. Well just about, it's within the old walls and is two minutes walk from the main square, Raekoja Plats. There are one or two hostels nearer the centre but it's nothing worth quibbling over. Alur's sign is rather modest and as it has no windows at eye level you could easily miss it. Entrance is by door buzzer and reception is on the first floor so it's straight up ... ...mid-evening. In summary Old Town Hostel Alur offers good value budget accommodation in a great location. Approximate prices 2009 Dorm beds around £6-7 depending on size of dormitory Double room - £28/per night Hostel Alur Lai 20 Tallinn tel +3726466210 www.alur.ee ...

Uniquestay Hotel Tallinn
Advantages: Great location, good price, free internet and well appointed rooms Disadvantages: Not for those looking to party
...pleasure to stay in the Uniquestay Hotel. The price was £41 which was great especially as I took my 18yr old son so needed 2 rooms. The staff on reception were friendly and helpful and from the very first impressions it was a wise choice. My room was large, well decorated with wooden floors, tea and coffee making facilities and free computer and internet access. Breakfast was in their lovely restaurant and had a great choice even for vegetarians. ...

Good Value Hotel
Advantages: Near sea front, bus stop next to hotel Disadvantages: Bus or taxi ride to city centre, nothing to do in proximity of hotel
We requested the holiday rooms. The rooms were clean, comfortable and adequately furnished with tv. Bathroom was small with shower, sink and toilet. Breakfast included cereal, yogurt, fruit juice, toast, cold meats, cheese, tea and coffee. Hot food was also available but was the same each morning and consisted of a type of mini hotdog with scrambled egg (not so scrambled though!) but was edible. Porridge was an additional option some mornings. The ... ...day and evening. The location gave us cause for concern when we first arrived as it appeared to be in the middle of a residential area consisting of low rise blocks of flats with several metal cabins complete with shutters covered in graffiti acting as shops. This was purely just a reflection of the old USSR as the area was quite safe all though there is not really anything to do outside of the hotel so we regularly took the 20 minute bus journey ...

Advantages: 5 * cosy hotel Disadvantages: Expencive
...bag ready to book in hotel cause I have been eating dinner in hotel and now wanted to try rooms as well... and go to manicure ( Everytime I go to Tallinn I pre-book beauty session for me cause prices are much cheaper there than back in Finland.) I step out from Terminal, there was some cars waiting out side and I was not very sure are they taxis or just private cars. So here we go...closer look show that they really where taxis. (cars where old and ... ...him to drive us to hotel just using finnish. Neather us dont speak estonia, but in Tallinn you manage using finnish and english. AND that good!!! Ok we where sitting in taxi, and I still was little bit on my toes..about this drive, but after 10 min drive I paid, only 5 € and found my self in Old Town front of Hotel Schlossie.
Dating back as far as the 13th century, the old section of Tallinn is what keeps most visitors occupied during their stay. ...
